That's enough boost/airflow to make baby Jesus cry! And they make turbos that will support that and spool fairly well, huh? Craziness... Just make me a promise if you build it. You will take it to the next meet and I get a ride, lol.
Lol, its going to be a very long time, and lot of money in the making, I need almost a grand just to get the engine running again on N/A, about 2 grand in other things like exhaust, headers, windshield, tires, to make it legal. And 1 more grand to make it relatively nice/nice looking. And currently I have some money issues really stinting my progress. To do the turbocharging, it would be probably 4 grand just to prep the engine, add another 2-6 for turbo/s and components...you get the idea, and like I said, money issues, atm I can't even finish the engine.
I've always found it funny that mustang owners put chevy's under the hood :P I rip on mustang owners all the time about it,lol, to be fair though a decent many chevy guys use ford rear ends...
A guy on Pennocks is running 20 psi on a 2.8 block and getting 400ish hp and over 400 ft/lbs.
His only issue is head gaskets (he's using stock gaskets/bolts).
It may not be as accurate as a dyno but my logs show 310 lbs/ft at 5 psi in my 3100. And that is with torque management set to 280 max. Timing gets pulled to -12* by the time it hits 310. I could probably get more but i don't want to blow my tranny.
I did smooth the short side radius and make flush the hang over just behind the valve seats in both intake/exhaust pockets.
I also removed casting defects in the Plenum and LIM.
I added 1mm radius where the Plenum meets the LIM and tapered that 1" into the LIM. Hoping to increase air velocity with the turbo.
My throttle body was heavily ported. I removed the top bar holding the throttle blade, tear dropped the blade edges, increased the funnelling radius in front of TB and flushed the blade screws/ sunk the screw heads 50%. I also put golf ball texture in specific areas to reduce turbulent drag into the TB's blade area.
Not to be off topic too much. But at 5psi with minor porting I loose traction easily at WOT.
Maybe the best question is how much PSI can a 3x00 push before all traction is lost, lol.
I would LOVE to turbo a 4 wheel drive trans with really sticky tires
This is why RWD is better :P I could just put one huge tire running the width of the car on there...bit of an exaggeration, but you get the idea, because some cars are pretty close to that,lol.
Width isn't your big issue on most street cars,tire composition and downforce is.

Loner had spikes as high as 21psi a few times by mistake, but consistently ran 12+. Traction and transmissions were the issue. He has severe duty gaskets and head studs. I'm thinking about going and getting the car to build a better manifolds, and have something to go from to fabricate more...
Is, that directed at me, and if so what do you mean by it? I have stainless steel MLS cometic gaskets...or will after the finish revising them and send them...
since fuses are used to stop to much amperage from running through an electrical circuit, i think it's safe to say john meant that if you try going too far, your headgaskets are going to blow.
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

Having head gasket as a mechanical fuse is a really bad idea tho, as when head gasket blew, they can fuck up a bunch of other thing (coolant in turbo bearings is not good).

I guess its better then a rod shot through the oil pan with a half melted piston...lol
But yeah, water in the oil is a real problem. Especially for the turbo. One advantage to an isolated turbo oil system.
