Just wondering if anyone has seen or done a supercharger installation on a 2.8 V6 S10 pickup or Blazer. Were there any significant mods?. How did it handle the added power?. Were you impressed?. I've thougth about adding a supercharger, the KF Industries supercharger, into my 2.8 V6 TBI engine...but am unsure if that's alright. I have heard that I need to have the ECM tuned, but I called the company and was told that the kit includes the intake manifold, supercharger, ECM, and it's set up for 5 pounds of boost at 5,000 RPM, with an increase of 35% in both horsepower and torque at the rear wheels, and a 1 MPG reduction with normal driving. This would translate into I'm guessin roughly 40HP/50 TQ over the baseline flywheel numbers which are 125 HP/150 TQ, with some mods would be right around the HT 3.4. I don't know what I should do, I live in Los Angeles, and any mods I do would have to be CARB approved, or at least look stock. Thanks for any input. Late.

3400 FTW! swap in a MPFI harness, or you can modify the TB and intake to fit on the 3400 i believe. the super charger on a 2.8 just isnt practical. and tuning will never be great with that old system. change the gears and beef up a 3400. I'm sure others will chime in if your serious about this.Last edited by bob442; 02-19-2010, 06:51 PM.

Not a 2.8 bust still a 60 degree
You would be much better off and it would be easier to just drop a 3.4 in it. Why spend more to get to a point where you could be starting from and building up.87 3.4 4x4 blazer

Thanks neo71665, but I've already seen the site. Seems like the most practical solution would be to drop in the GMPP HT 3.4 and add a free flow exhaust, intake, headers, 4.3 TBI and call it done!. The more and more i look into hopping up the 2.8 i've got, the more pleasing the 3.4 swap sounds. Less of a hassle, cheaper and i don't have to make major mods. Another thought would be to add the 3.4 from a 93-95 camaro along with the matching trans and hop up the camaro 3.4, but I don't wanna have to go through emissions testing!. I live in L.A. and I recall seing a member on the s10forum that lives in california and he did the swap, and stated that his GMPP HT 3.4 V6 passed emission without a hitch. Hey neo71665, do you manage the s10forum?, I signed up, but I cannot log in, it won't allow me to, so I sent a message to the webmaster to see if he can fix my problem!.I need a bigger engine!

I'm not a member of management on either site. You can try to contact the admins over on org or if push comes to shove Hollar at a member on here called Betterthanyou (I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in yet already). Hes a mod over on org if I recall.87 3.4 4x4 blazer
