  • 36# L67 injectors

They are a bad idea on batch fire (MPFI) motors. The minimum pulse width recommended for high impedence injectors is around 1.8ms. Tha means that 1.8ms all the way down to 0ms will deliver the same amount of fuel because the fuel injector just cannot open and close any faster then that.

At idle I was seing around .9ms (1000 rpm) A 800 rpm idle was down around .7ms. At a 70mph cruise 1.4ms was about average.

Whats this mean? You will get a horribly rich and rough idle and it will be cruising just sucking down the gas. Tuned the best I could the most I could get was 21mpg highway driving, probably due to the injectors.

36lb. injectors are obviously just way too big. I have a set of stock GTP injectors (the same 36lb. ones your talking about) and I wouldn't dream of putting them in my car. I'm sure at WOT there wouldn't be a problem but crusing down the road it just couldn't go lean enough I wouldn't think. The most you would want to put in a MPFI 60* is probably 29lb. or so and thats if you have a turbo and a healthy amount of mods. On an N/A any bigger than 24lb. or so would be overkill, although you could probably get them to work if they weren't too huge.

However it is weird that a stock GTP with 240hp could use these injectors, but a modded TGP with 240hp would run PIG RICH with them.

I love the SFI... I have 42.5# injectors and not a single problem.
      It\'s ugly, and turbocharged!
264 HP and 284 ft/lbs at the wheels(@9psi), power curve like none other!
And the transaxle to get it to the ground!

Ones MPFI, ones SFI. One is tuned for them, one is not. One is .7L larger then the other. You also need larger injectors for a SFI system compared to a MPFI for the same reasons.

Whenever I put the SFI MAF system back in I'll start using the 36# again.
