2.8 MPI in an s10.. lookin to turbo

im looking to convert my 2.8 over to turbo. i was wondering what yinz suggest for cam selection and recomemd for ecm and memcal selection.

i've been told the sy/ty is good place to start. ill be having a custom harness made up and converted over to speed density. this is going into a off road vehicle so emissions is not a problem with this one.

THe Cyclone/Typhoon setup is prob your best bet since you have a distributor.... based on the 3.4 camaro intake. I think the ECMs are the same. But you can always swap proms, 3bar map, and injectors. Of course the pump. The 4.3 had a even fire crank too unlike the odd fire 3.8,3.0 engines...so you don't need to mess around with the timming. But you do need to program your own prom to run the smaller engine right (mess with the VE tables, time spark, limp mode). The 2060 cam should work right. I have the Crane 260...for mild turbo. You just don't want too much overlap. More exhaust timming is good.

kewl.. glad to see someone willing help me out with some info. well i have a 3.4 intake buts its been modified to fit the dist. and its really a 2.8 i just wanted the 3.4 intake to give me access to the pressure regulator. id planned on burnning my own prom for this setup. im looking to get around 300hp once i get around to this or more with around 10 psi.. ill be building my 3.4 to use for boost. ill be changing the cam since the one i have has a bad lobe and has ticked since i've had it in. what cams would you recomend to make good power?
