  • Jakes 91 GTP Turbo Updated Pics

Alright so ive done alot of work under the hood, replacing garbage couplers and heat wraping the exhaust housing on the turbo, methanol injection is all installed hooked up and functioning.

I think it looks alot nicer under the hood now, so i snapped a few pics for you guys to enjoy and maybe think up some ideas.

Oh and im aware i dont have an air filter on the turbo, shhhhhhhhh. lol

    Enjoy

ya of course, i just need a shorter rad, so i can get a proper adapter on there, the car is not an everyday driver, its lucky if it gets driven 2x a month, and the inlet is clean, its pretty blocked off from outside air, so things dont get sucked into it. But yes it is getting fixed.

Lol why wait for the filter, i drive it around all the time without it on. Im thinking about getting one of those slip on ones that covers the inlet.

But ya if anyone is ever in my area we can take it out for a spin. Its very fun.

Except not in the winter, its stored durring the winters.

I'd like to see pictures of the downpipe and pictures from under neath. Looks interesting. I keep telling my buddy to build up funds to do this to his.... even with his 96+ style intake setup.

heres a pic of the pipes, unfortunatly i dont have any underneath pics, i really should take some though next time its on a hoist.

                  Thats a 3" downpipe with a v-band flange.

Yeah there not that big, but definatly header wrap FTW , if i measure the temp with the ir thermometer its a 100*F difference side by side to the wrapped / unwrapped pipe.

I had mine ceramic coated then I used header wrap. So cool, it makes cold air intakes jealous!

LMAO, nice, i thought about doing that, but i was on a time limit to get it done so i skipped the ceramic coating and just wrapped the crap outta the pipes .

                            Looks great!

I just rock a screen over my turbo inlet. has been that way for like 3years. i did recently buy some silicon couplers and what not so maybe one of these days i will have a real filter.. the screen i have is a very fine stainless mesh (took it off a no name cone air filter) and it works good but is a little restrictive. spools faster and makes 2lbs more boost with it removed, but works fine for driving on the street. LOL keeps small childern and animals from getting sucked up in my turbo

Ya i was looking at those screen type filters on ebay, there like $10-$30 and its better than nothing, so i think thats the route im going. Im gald you mentioned thats what you use because that pretty much sold it for me.

                              Thanks
