Garrett is a company that you can byu turbos from. Try talkign to them....
LOL sorry, just had to. You probably can find one off of Ebay, they have 18 pages under the search "turbochargers." I'm sure 1 out of the thousands of results has those specs. Then you will probably have to have it rebuilt, but that will be udner 500.
Acutally I wouldn't buy one of eGay. I would go find a shop that can offer you one with a clipped wheel. Then you can go .81 A/R and not hurt your spooling. Do some shopping.
It\'s ugly, and turbocharged!
264 HP and 284 ft/lbs at the wheels(@9psi), power curve like none other!
And the transaxle to get it to the ground!
what is a clipped wheel? I need to start learning about this crap if I plan on turboing my car next winter
When an angle is cut into the turbine's outer wheel...it theoretically increases CFM indirectly, because now one can move the time the turbo makes usable boost at a later RPM, however it reduces the efficiency of the turbo...trade off!?!?
Maetrix66,
I think you meant .63 housing try www.turbobuick.com and www.turbobuicks.com ...the for sale section will usually have some decent prices!
I can almost garuntee I'm the only one on these boards that has a turbo of that style. I also make "ideal" power (meaning if you calculate my displacement, boost level inc. IC, and engine RPM, it is the maximum calculated). It starts to boost in the high 2000's and is at full boost up to about 9 psi by about 3500 RPM. There is no drop off in power until it shifts. To me you can't ask for much better.
Besides, I have the numbers to show it. Do you have a turbo that's putting out better power? (accounting for displacement of course)

I would run a larger A/R then that. I would do closer to a .80 with a "P". i would actually step up to a straight T04E, But that is just me....
T3/T04E .80 A/R P trim would be a fun combo for the 3100. I would not run more then 10psi intercooled.
hell, my roomate runs that turbo w/ a .70 a/r on his 1.8L integra and it spools fast! Quite a few people run 60-1 Standards (T4 Based Turbo) on their 1.6-2.4L 4cyl imports here in colorado without a problem...
