sad news-the douchebag who promised me for sure that he would hold onto the rx7 convertible for me until saturday didnt & sold it 3 days after promising me hed hold onto it so now im saying screw it and getting a 87-91 camaro 5 speed & putting the lq1 in it since itll be decently cost effective & besides a motor mount everything should bolt up if i get a v6 camaro-id really like to find a convertible but i highly doubt that i will for any reasonable price

theres always someone who'll screw up your plans... but a LQ1/5speed camaro should be a fun car, probably pull somewhere in the 14 second range... but the only things i can think of that you'll have to deal with is the mounts, redrilling the starter, and i'm not sure of how much room is between the strut towers of the camaro compared to how wide the LQ1 is...
EDIT: the oilpan may also be an issue, in which case you'll need to modify a crossmember or fab up an oilpan.

also why would the 60* lq1 -possibly- have any problems fitting in a vehicle that came stock with an even larger 90* v8?

lol gotta love that prism-why didnt you go full bore & just do it to a metro? lightest metro youll find weighs about, 1600lbs total- about half of what my lumina euro coop weighs, add 200lbs for engine-50lbs for the trans-150 for rearend & 200lbs for misc & you're as light as a stock crx with TONS more power
