  • 3.4 DOHC with a T25 turbo?

do you think it would be worth it to throw a t25 turbo , on the 3.4 dohc? and can the motor handle the power and how much power can it handle with stock internals? ex: 5-6 psi?

If I remember correctly, a T25 would be a bit small for a DOHC. It would spool really low, but run out of steam fast and start doing not much more then blowing hot air. For you, I would suggest going to the library and checking out a couple turbo books. One I bought was called "Turbocharging, Supercharging and Nitrous Oxide", and I've heard Corky Bell rights good books on the subject as well. Research is key to the right combination that performs the way you want it to.

The T25 is too small. On the 2.0L DSM motors, they nicknamed these the T-too-small. A pair of them would work very well though...

The stock motor has been proven to handle up to 10 psi with proper tuning. With just a FMU, you may find the limit closer to 5-7 psi.

Agreed. Pair would be nice, my friend had a pair on his Nissan 300zx 3.0l and they were perfect for street driving

WAY TOO SMALL! do you have it sitting around or why did you choose a T25? the big T25 on the TGP was too small and it was a Large T25, and it was on a old 3.1MPFI and your working with a 3.4L DOHC which has ALOT more exhaust volume then the old 3.1's. its almost 2x the size of the motor you find OEM t25 turboed cars on.

          at minimum you want a large A/R T3/T4 or a straight T4.

yeah it came on the mclaren grand prix , thats why i thought of it , so maybe um like , t-60? or t-61? i dont wanna blow the motor or do damage , thats why i was thinking so small , maybe ill just put a t-60 at like 4-5 psi so its more power , with out having to worry about anything, and if i wanna race just boost it to 8-10 psi lolol

I am running a Turbonetics T04E Super 60 on mine, as is timg.. you can run a larger A/R T3/T4 if you want faster spool. it all depends on what you want. A T4 60-1 is on the larger side but will work, it will have a bit of lag but will make good power.

im gonna use the extra power 90% of the time on the highway , so i dont think i have to work about lag so much bc i can just leave it in " 3 " automatic, lol. so maybe i will go with the bigger one but lower psi so i dont damage anything bc i only have 74k and i dont wanna mess up that motor. but then again i really want a 97+ gtp for the SC. so im not 100% sure yet.

I have a Turbonetics 62-1 Turbo, i love it, tons of flow for this motor, and spools damn fast on my car, but i have a 5 speed.

As for the 97+ GTP for the L67, dont bother, i have a 99 GTX with the L67, it has functional ram air hood, full 3" stainless exhaust, high flow cat, custom downpipe, 3.4" pulley on the SC and poly engine braces. apparently with that setup its pushing almost 300hp, and my turbo GTP just straight up rapes the GTX and personally i find its way more fun to drive the GTP and the GTP gets better fuel economy than the GTX.

Lol so theres a little something to think about.
