  • Next round of turbo...

So either when my turbo dies or when i get my '94 Lumina running im going to a different turbo. The T04E super 60 will be out the door and the new Garrett GT3271 will be going in. I figure on 7-10psi will equate to roughly 400hp to the crank wich is about 60 more then im making now on the same boost level and also spool faster. it is a T3/T4 with a divided inlet (i believe they call it twin scroll). for $800 retail its a sweet turbo.

if i did my calculations correctly the corrected air flow is around "25.6" and the pressure ratio at WOT is around 22.9. after graphing it out it will be in optimal efficency nearly 100% of the powerband.

ive heard of that housing called a twin volute. same difference i guess did you take in considerations of average ambient temperature and elevations when you calculated your pressure ratio?

Hmm... I looked into that turbo a while ago. It seemed like a nice compromise.

This turbo looks interesting too. Similar to the GT35R, but oil cooled and from Borg Warner. Wanna make it 500 instead of 400 hp?

Divided housing makes room for a quick boost valve
