  • Supercharged beretta v6 dynoed

just dynoed and got 210whp/238wtrq at the wheels.
My 2" crushed-bent exhaust and Midas catylitc
converter is killing the top end as the engine is
maxing out the 36 lbs. injectors. 85% duty cycle on
the injectors according to the math should be right at
300hp flywheel. The engine is cosuming the fuel but
cannot put the power down due to the corked exhaust.

Timing was at 28 degrees and the air-fuel ratio was
    holding 12.5:1.

100cpi metal cat along with a true 2.5" should be
interesting to see what it rewards as power starts to level off around 4K RPMs.

I'll save band width with a link to pics below:

        I would run a 2.5" carsound cat and 2.5" catback w/ a magnaflow muffler.

also you should think about eliminating some of thoes couplers by welding the charge pipes together.

How much boost are you running? Did you do any building up of the engine?

About 10 psi at peak RPMs. The engine is a 3.1 bored .030", Crane 2030 cam, and mild port and tubular exhaust manifolds. The engine has about 50K on it and about 20K supercharged.

Yeah, the DynoMax cat and cat-back broke this summer while on vacation. It was even unbearable with ear plugs. So I had to make the stop for $350...

If you pick up a copy of the latest GM High Tech Performance they install and review a F.A.S.T. programmable ECU similar to the one I am using. About the only thing different is I am using DOS(most agree it is better than the windows version), I don't use eDist for the coil-on-plug ignition that the LS1 uses, and they agree it is the "glue" that holds the package together when the mods start. Sorry, no link the article but they do have a nice CTS with over 400whp that runs 11s.

I have been using the Walboro 255 lhp fuel pump and 2.5" mandrel exhaust for about a week now. Torque delivery is smoother and broader through the RPM band. The transition from a nice torque curve to horsepower is much more seamless than before. The exhaust tone and volume is about right noticeable but it does not resonate. Boost is down slightly due to the lowering of back pressure. Which is good for the hp that the blower consumes. I have recieved compliments from a few at work saying they like the note.

I have not seen any change in injector duty cycle with the new pump below 5K rpms. I might see a change after that but have not had the chance to rev it that high.

I am schedule for Saturday dyno...stayed tuned.

I'll let you know in a few days (gotta break it in a bit), but I bet you'll find that with a cam swap from the 2030, you'll get even more balls!

I've got a custom (one off) cam in my 2.8 MPFI (amongst other mods) that's supposed to pull like crazy vs. what I had before (a Comp 252H which is very similar to yours).

The cam was designed and ground by the guy who designed the worlds fastest turbo diesel p/u.

It seems like a good set-up. I was just wondering what kind of supercharger you're using? Thanks.
