All custom. 100%. you can find many post on the forum from myself, D.O.H.C. and TimG among others who have done a turbo setup. ZZPerformance.com has a kit for a 3800 which is setup the same way our cars are. They don't have one for the DOHC so don't bother asking them for one. but all the other stuff like fuel system and whatnot are interchangeable with our cars....
Best recomendation is to take it to a performance shop that specializes in custom turbo systems, its not cheap but if you have no expierence at building a turbo kit its the only way you are going to get it done.
Here is what it would look like.

cool thx. im only 16 almost 17 but i really like this car. i work on carsin shool and on my spare time but im still a little wet behind the ears. do you have any tips on fuel injectors or any quick bolt ons that would be worth my time and money. thnx.
1.) Air intake
2.) High flow Cat (magnaflow/carsound)
3.) catback exhaust (Custom) high flow mufflers (magnaflow and Borla Sound great)
4.) underdrive pulley (if you can find one)
5.) suspension is allways fun.... lowering springs, struts, brakes, swaybar, ect...
6.) ported throttle body/intake manifolds
7.) 1996-97 upper and lower intake manfiold swap (good swap if you can find them)
these are all things that are easy to do if you are looking for a little power and not tearing into the motor to far. there are other things but these are the most common to be done 1st.
I have over $4000 in my turbo setup and OBDII Swap/tune. and i had to tear the engine harness out of the car and all the piping done custom.

Great advice. The main thing that you want to do is research. Thats the thing that takes the most time. THen money. Make sure that you have enough money so that you can get it complete in a timly manner. It is worth it.... HELL YA, I cant tell you how many times I have been asked, Is that Barretta turbo, I say no fuck head, its a lumina, then I give them an earfull of the BOV. Its great when you smoke a BMW 335I, twin turbo, thats thinks hes hot shit. I will say though, the stock injectors suck. I dont know if mine were always bad, but I am getting terrible leak down of gas into the cyclinder all the time. I am taking my car off the road to fix this. At the same time I am going to do a coolant change, OBD II sway, Turbo timer, Oil pan leak, tune, Big brakes and thats about it. So figure out what you want to do and go from there.

if i were to do an intake swap...would it just be a bolt on process or do i have to do some custom fitting. also is it possibe to put a throttle body spacer on the 96-96 model intakes or is it built in like on a 93 model. now besides that i was considering putting an underdrive pully on my crank ONLY.(ive heard that if you put it on the alternator or the water pump then you can have a risk of your car stalling out or a dead battery while iddling...is this true.)

not its not true, i have just a crank underdrive pulley and the car runs at normal temp and alternator charges full blast, no need to worry there, maybe on other cars its a problem but not ours.

swapn the upper and lower intake manifolds is just a straight swap. and a TB spacer is a waste of time and money. the 1991-93 don't have a removable TB and the 96-97 will not gain anything from it. Just make sure you seal the intake gaskets well or you will have some problems... Intake gaskets are a common thing to go bad on these cars.
My UD Pulley is just the pulley. At a stoplight my lights get a kinda dimm but once the cars starts moving its fine. I also have a pretty power hungery sterio (3 amps, 2 subs, all speakers replaced) so im sure that doesn't help.
