Sounds like what 88GTU said, once it reaches boost it gives 5v output. Basically you have a normal map and then boost hits you change that table to dump fuel, but you have no idea how much boost is coming on, just that it's above 1bar...

Couldn't you use the 2 bar and just edit the tables corresponding with the right values? You'd loose some resolution but wouldn't that work?

nope, this changes with boost, 0 bar being 0 volts 2 bar being 5 volts. 1 bar would be 2.5v.... its linear with boost rise

The 2 Bar MAP alone will not provide the real benefit; you need a spark table that is coordinated with it. The most important parameter is having proper spark retard under boost conditions, proper fuel goes without saying. A boost activated module with the ability to retard timing accordingly along with a 1 Bar MAP would be more beneficial than a 2 Bar MAP with the stock spark table. Timing retard on the OE fuel table richens the mix in which case the added boost pressure leans it back towards normal.

It's difficult to tune much more than about 7 psi on a 1 Bar MAP. If I had used datalogging equipment I may have done better in the past but I was never able to reach and sustain 10 psi with a 1 Bar MAP partly because I didn't know what was going on in the engine. The one time I did successfully reach 12 psi in that circumstance was on a Fiero with a 2.8L years ago (1996) and I used an intercooler and extra fuel injector along with 3.8L injectors in the rail. That little engine really pulled and the 12 psi registered in the manifold. I had an IROC Z28 at the time and to this day can't tell you why I didn't race the two. I'm sure the Fiero would have won, until I put two turbos on that TPI motor, things haven't been the same since, I turbocharge everything now.

I wonder how those like RickyKline are doing it with the DHP??

MSD has a spark retard per psi of boost add-on that goes with their spark box that one could always use.

i have one of Rickys tunes actually before he went with a 97 ecm..i need to look at it better and i can tell you what was changed..i know he blew the engine but that was on 12psi with stock internals

i got the trans out today..let me tell you..that was worse then pulling the motor for the swap..im hoping to pick my new trans up thursday or friday..i also just spend $168 on stuff to wrap the wires and hoses as well as a trans cooler and Evac kit so i can remove the tube to the rear valve cover

i still need to pull the headers and send the whole exhaust part of the turbo setup to get ceramic coated..once i get those back and installed i can put in the new trans and finish it up

i also still need to make up a dumptube for the wastegate, get a bigger oil drain line, and get a 90* fitting for the oil feed line as well as modify some intake piping alittle to make everything fit better, look better and make things alittle happier..oh and i need a new trans mount and a wheel bearing..damn this is adding up fast..lol

is that the stock intake plumbing there on the throttle body? i didnt think that would hold up to boost.

Wow, things are looking much better sice last time I saw.

Those hood pins don't look too bad, I was thinking the old cotterpin types.

Did you have the y-pipe coated?

Also, noticed you unwrapped the MAF, does it seem to be happier now?

I had the other style pins actually. I just put these in last week. The Crossover pipe and Downpipe are all coated as well as the lower half of the downpipe wrapped. MAF is alittle happier at times. Its usually fine but depending how long of a drive i take with it it sometimes gets mad but i have the 2bar MAP working now so its fine

Im going to redone some of the cold pipe to make room for a bigger MAF and for my Injection stuff. That you will see when its done
