So Loner made the 3hr drive down here on Thursday to install his turbo, got here about noon and drove home this morning about the same time (Sat).

It was a long 2 days, we didn't go to sleep until 2am Fri, got up at 8 and went right back at it. Pulled an all-nighter and it was running shortly after dawn.

    Here's the startup...

Here's the first and second test drive after we overcame a couple of snags (coupler never tightened, and a coupler blew off)...

We used the prototype turbo headers I build for him a couple of months ago and fabbed everything else while the car was here.

He didn't hesitate to make the 3hr drive home after and only had a few minor details to work out.

Here are some pics how we did it...

No bracket. The charge pipe from the turbo to I/C is welded solid and the headers were made with 14ga and welded wherever the primaries were even close. This thing is solid. The downpipe has a flex right under the steering rack.

Yes, Loner wanted to keep the EGR, not such a bad thing

Looks and sounds great! However, did I hear a little compressor surge near the end in the second test drive?

I think you are hearing the Tial BOV. It has a methodid hissing to it. Could be surge, perhaps the spring is too tight on the BOV? He plans on upping the boost, but is taking it easy on the aged tranny.

I think the BOV is fluttering..It needs a better reference line from the motor but for now it works..Its one of the few details that still needs to be worked out but like mentioned..gonna be easy on the trans and that thing is in there SOLID

also those pulls arent WOT they are about 75%-80% due to tuning and the trans..once those to are done will be getting upped to 10psi with Alcohol injection

yea..im gonna mess around with that tomorrow probably

highway drive was great once i got it leaned out..i had a MAF code the whole way tho from what im guessing is from the heat under it so im going to get some 3in pipe and some grommet to move it closer to the TB but i couldnt get on it because the tune and plugs because it would pop and all kinds of nasty sounds so i could only roll into it up to 3/4 or so throttle, just enough to pass and have alittle fun the last 80miles since i stopped to get something to help keep me awake and walk around some

Yeah, someone mentioned to me that the coupler between the MAF and TB really isn't stable for positive pressure. Coupler will be much better. Didn't think about some of this stuff at 6am, haha.
