im eventually looking into boosting my 3.4 i have a cutlass and it seems that theres not much space under there for money to power and reliability wise what would be my better choice a turbo or supercharger and what would mount up easiest to this engine and space? i was thinking centrifugal supercharger but am still unsure?

both are going to be good options. looking at a RSM kit for another 60* v6 with some modifications might be fun. but turbo will most likely give you the most bang for you buck as far as power. a few guys on here are turboed including myself... it all depends on what kinda power your looking for.
if you do a search there are a few topics about the same question.

If you want more low end torque, the worst possible choice is a centrifugal supercharger. Centrifugal superchargers only make maximum boost at redline and significantly less boost at lower RPM (roughly, boost = max boost * current RPM / Max RPM)
You probably want a small turbo. The GT3071R or GT3076R should spool very quickly and be capable of over 400 horsepower.

i have not boosted mine but the car i bought used to be boosted at some point.
this guy relocated the battery to the trunk to make room for the turbo and cut a hole in the bottom of the battery box to run the IC piping through.
other than that he welded a couple brackets to the inside of the metal bumper.
i have a ton of the project pics somewhere.
i still have the IC and a few pipes btw. if you want them i could let you have them for $40 plus shipping.
he also modified the intake manifold and the crossover coolant pipe. i have those too. $65 plus shipping
lastly, he was using a 91-95 dohc and simply flipped the front manifold over and put it in the rear and fabbed a crossover pipe. i sold the pipe but still have the manifold. $25 plus shipping.
if you want it all, i'll sell it all for $100 plus shipping. a decent start for a decent price i think.Last edited by dohcfiend; 12-31-2007, 06:00 PM.The Official Rotating Mass Nazi
