I was wondering if anyone has tried to run E85 to avoid detonation on a boosted LQ1 before, I was planning on running L69 GTP injectors to get the fuel flow up. I calculated it out and figured that I should be running 32lb/hr injectors for E85 and the GTP ones from what I read are rated at 33lb/hr but actually flow 36lb/hr. This is all assuming that the stock LQ1 injectors are 23lb/hr and the in gasoline terms I would want a 12.5:1 AFR which in E85 terms would be 9:1 AFR. The queston I have mainly is whether the computer can compensate for having an extra 4 lb/hr of flow in the injectors?

That's a large bump in the injector size. The computer will not be able to compensate without retuning or a piggyback. E85 can and will corrode any aluminum it comes in contact with.

The anodized the aluminum fuel system parts (or provided some other treatment) to prevent corrosion caused by E85. It doesn't seem to be an issue on heads, just parts that are always in contact with a lot of it (the fuel system).

The corrosion issue with E85 is that it is hydroscopic and absorbs water, like brake fluid. Since the same fuel doesn't tend to sit in the fuel lines for days or weeks, it's probably not an issue.
My friend has run his '95 Talon on E85 on quite a few occasions. It runs high 11's on the stuff. There's an experiment on www.realfierotech.com in which a guy dropped a fuel pump into a jar of E85 and left it there to see how much it would corrode. Look it up.
To just get a car to run E85, all it takes is a bump in injector size. The computer doesn't care what the new injector size is, as long as the relationship of pulse width to stoich AFR doesn't change (stoich is considerably lower with E85 than with gasoline).Current:

e85 also loves compression..the higher the better...i would love to be able to run it in the alero...just dont have the funds for tuning
