I am wondering about my t3 hot side on my turbo. When I got it back the turbo shop told me that I did not need a gasket on the outlet of the turbo hot side. Now when I tighten the bolts I put a light behind it and see the light come through. So would that me that the exhaust will leak out? I can find the gasket on e-bay for a t3 2.5" 4 bolt gasket Just 3". PLease let me know, I dont want to start the car up and it not be right.

I didn't use a gasket on mine, but my friend made me a 1/2" mild steel flange that he surfaced ground to be perfectly flat. The inlet definately needs a gasket, I use the stainless ones with a rolled edge (the kind that came with my turbo), and it works well.
If you used an ebay flange that's kind of thin, I would recommend a gasket, and if it has a 3" hole in it for the downpipe, that should be OK.Last edited by ForcedFirebird; 07-09-2007, 11:56 PM.

You may want to do it. If the surfaces don't mate completely, that exhaust leak can melt underhood components and the gap can stress the bolts for the DP (possibly breaking or backing them out).
