Help with boosting 2.8L LB8 chevy longitudal chevy
Help with boosting 2.8L LB8 chevy longitudal chevy
I AM TAKING A 2.8L LB8 CHEVY AND USING 3.1 PISTONS (+.06) WITH A 3.1L STROKE TO MAKE A 3.2L ITS FUEL INJECTED AND WANT TO MAKE IT SUPER OR TURBO CHARGED WITH IN PRICE REASON (UNDER $2300 FOR A WHOLE KIT OR SO THAT DOESN'T COME INTERCOOLED IF THERE ARE ANY POSSIBLE KIT THAT WOULD FIT A 2.8L BLOCK MOTOR FOR ITS BRACKETS AN STUFF!!!...) AND PLAN ON MAKING 5-8 POUNDS OF BOOST WITH A POWERBAND OF ABOUT (LIBERALLY) 1500-2500 TO 4500-5200 WITH A 5500-5700 REDLINE . AND WOULD LIKE LIBERAL/ ROUGH EDUCATED ESTIMATE ON POSSIBLE POWER AND TORQUE AND WANT TO BE ABLE TO RUN ON 87-89 OCTANE SAFELY. AND A MODIFIED COMPUTER CHIP ISN'T A PROBLEM AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT SIZE INJECTORS TO USE PROBABLY 19LBS INJECTORS ARE DECENT
87 octane with boost on a non intercooled motor? Maybe but id never plan on boost with low octane fuel. I ran some simulations and the comp 260 grind is probably the best cam for what you want to do (NA first, then boost). I have no idea where you will get a kit though to boost your V6 camaro since its fuel injected.
Turn your caps lock off! You don't have to worry about a tune if you install larger injectors and tund down your base fuel pressure. 3.1 pistons are the same as the 2.8 with the exception of the wrist pin location. I am running 24# injectors that will rise above 80% at 200 or so HP with an AFPR.
Where are you located? If close, I could even install a turbo for you. I may be selling mine soon, it's for a 3.1 and will fit your car (providing you have a driver's side battery). The only kit you can get is made by bostedrs. He is a member of this site, and believe they are $2800 for the 3rd gen Camaro/Firebird V6.
Can you give me some turbo/intercooler specs? Turbo is simple, intercooler I need efficiency and pressure drop if you know it.
If you were asking me, I can't answer that question because it is a used aftermarket that the inlet/outlet have been modified. Intercoolers can be had cheap from e-bay.
what i meant is if theres a kit thats roughly $2300 or so obviously less expensive if possible not INCLUDING a intercooled setup and if intercooled maybe under $27 or $2800
so how cheap are you talking i live in N.Y. by the way what i basically want is 200-210 N/A horsepower and to turbo charge it to get about 325 hp and with a 3.2L displacement and it should be possible because there's N/A motors putting out 100 HP per Liter thanks
FORCEDFIREBIRD on the thirdgen.org page of yours HOW THE HE*L did you get a turbo for only $175 and a intercooler for just $75 those are the prices im looking for

It's an e-bay turbo, the same you would get with Boostedrs' kit. The IC is used, but you can get them for double that new, also on e-bay. The parts can be had cheap for a turbo system, it's the fabrication that can get expensive if you can't do it yourself .
V6 - Discussion and questions about the base carbureted or MPFI V6's and the rare SFI Turbo V6.
its ontop of that page
anyways ill just get u a price for a intercooled kit and non intercooled kits
all my kits come with
new turbo
new wastegate
new bov
new injectors
all new custom y pipe
new downpipe
all new fittings/lines for the oil feed/drian
new intercooler
and all intercooler pipes
all the couplers and clamps needed to hook it up
for an added 400$'s i include a standalone engine management system with harness
i can do a full intercooled kit for 2,450 + shipping
full bolt on kit but u would have to take the car to an ex shop to have the downpipe welded to the factory ex system, and have the fitting for the oil line welded to the oil pan. which prolly cost ya about 100$'s
say about 2-300 cheaper without an intercooler < but i highly dont recomend it
