  • Turbo

Hey everybody i was just wondering how much work needs to be done to run a turbo on my 3.1. I know a guy that put a turbo on the rear section of the exhaust but it took almost a full 30 secs to spool up. So somebody let me know how much work needs to be done cause it always sounds cool to hear the blow off valve work!!!!

Check out www.v6z24.com a lot of guys there turbo their 3.1's or swap in a 3400 and turbo that. They burn chips to work with boost (and the extra fuel requirements of the 3400) and a 2bar map sensor.

You'll need to be able to weld for one. There is lots of threads over there by several guys as the topic has been discusted many times and many build ups.

Since you have a better mounting setup vs the old style L bodies, you could look into a TGP setup. Ebay has a few turbos listed from a TGP.

no, you don't have to... Just keep the boost levels down, a good sized intercooler, and a good tune, and you'll be ok.
