Hey guys i am new here and the owner of a 91 olds cutlass supreme sl with 50,000 miles and a 3.1. I have been searchin for months for a turbo. I want to create low boost to save my motor and tranny. Recomendations? any help would be great.

For the earlier motors, the easiest option is swapping parts from a Turbo Grand Prix.
For the later 3100, this is the closest thing I have seen, but it's for the 3400 in the Grand Am.
There have been talk of kits, but I don't recall seeing and kits for the w-body with the 3100.

You just have to start scouring junk yards. Sometimes, whole cars come up for $500 on ebay.

i have a '91 Cutlass Supreme with a 3.1 Intercooled Turbo engine and Getrag 282 5-speed transmission. it dyno'd 227whp & 325wtq before tuning, would likely dyno ~255whp & ~360wtq now on a DynoJet. tons of new parts and upgrades since last summer - new 1.7" drop Intrax front springs, upgraded larger '96 W-body brakes front and rear with new rotors and pads all around, new GM balljoints, brand new 245/50 Kumho ECSTA 711s on 16x8 GTP crosslace wheels, new AFCO Racing/TDC adjustable rear coilover suspension, new KYB GR-2 struts & struts mounts all around, new front strut boots and jounce bumpers. Walbro 255 HP fuel pump installed just yesterday. crossover pipe has been rebuilt by M&S Productions with SS flex bellows, turbo has NO shaft play, no smoke etc. Magnecor KV85 wires, M&M Racing MBC, K&N cone filter directly on compressor inlet, TurboXS RFL BOV, custom dyno tuned chip by KAZ MotorSports last November.
34mm Z34 front sway bar, 22mm Addco rear sway bar, extra shifter and shifter cables, '94 3100 1.6 rockers included but not installed. also have an extra TGP intercooler and intercooler fan that will be included. runs and drives GREAT!very very fun to drive
gets great gas mileage to boot (wayyyy better than my Regal GS which is stock and not nearly as fast....my Cutlass will blow its doors off). trust me, finding all of the TGP parts separately is a PITA (been there done that) and finding a beater TGP parts car can cost alot unless you get really lucky and find one locally and even then you'd be looking at fixing problems it may have.

To do a proper TC setup you're looking at spending $1500+... So with knowing that, sell your car for 1000 if it is in tip top running shape (Should be if you're going to turbocharge it) and buy his car with money to spare. Done deal. lolLifting my front wheels, one jack at a time.

i got the Intrax springs through a group buy on w-body.com. they are front springs for the '95-'99 Monte Carlo/Lumina but they fit all '88-'97 1st GEN W-bodies just the same. the group buy was for the front springs only. the sway bars i bought from other forum members.'91 Cutlass Supreme sedan - 3.1 Intercooled Turbo / Getrag HM-282 5-speed - 13psi / lightly modded
