hey guys cars going to be boosted hopefully next week.. got a few questions.they might sound dumb so bare with me...
    1. should the maf sensor go in the inlet charge pipe after the intercooler or at the turbo inlet?
    2. what about the iat should i just drill a hole in the charge pipe and use the stock grommet and seal the shit out of it?
3.shouldnt the blowoff valve be before the maf sensor to prevent a lean condition on decel and close throttle shifts...

i know ill think of more but those are a few things me and my buddies were argueing about last night while mounting the intercooler.. any and all input is appreciated.. thanks

    1. I've had it both places. I felt that it worked best as a blow through setup (by the throttle body)
    2. Mine's just hanging in the engine bay. I'm hoping to fix that with a new 85mm MAF. There is a threaded GM IAT sensor with the same response curve. That sensor can be screwed into a fitting welded onto the intercooler pipe.
    3. yes

cool .. whats the advantage to the 85mm maf over the stock one? other than size..from what i have found no gm maf can read more than 12500hz so why upgrade?

Off topic, but how would you use a IAT AND a MAF for a 1987-88 Beretta? I just used a MAF when I boosted it.

the 87-88 maf sensors are a 5 wire, they have a built in IAT sensor. a typical maf sensor (86 and prior and 90+) are 3 wire, and they have a seperate iat sensor.

So that is why when I did the SDU (Speed Density) upgrade before the setup, the mod only required splicing into two of it's current 5 wires. Couldn't I leave the IAT with the SDU hooked up and just plug the maf back in (I kept the MAF plug intact) then put the maf infront of the compressor wheel?

i think a blow through maf would be a much better idea... whats your opinion on a manual boost controller?

88-94 Z24s used the kind of IAT thats held in the intake box by a clip. The fiero has a threaded one, so do most ecotec engines(but i dont know if they are the same sensor, still two wires??)
