  • gt35r for 3400. .82 or .1.03 AR?

hey guys, im upgrading to the GT35r for ball bearing and better spool times, and looking to go 450-550 maybe even 600 whp out of this turbo. The question is, if i stick with the t3 82 ar housing do you think it will choke me up up top? I plan to run the 3400 to 7000rpm and make power there so what do you think. i ran a 60-1 compressor on a t3 .82 ar stage 3 wheel (t3/t4) hybrid and i would have enjoyed the boost coming on sooner. mind you this was a 3100. If i go to the 1.03 do you think i'd still see the boost come on at the same time given that the ball bearing will make up for the increased AR. The wheels on the GT are meant to spool faster than the GT in general so i was wondering what the consesus is. To go to a 1.03 from the .82 would only require a housing change correct? or is the exhaust wheel increased as well?

what do yo u think? go with the .82 and upgrade to the 1.03 later if it is just a housing change? What are the symptoms of too small a a/r? will this show up on the dyno or by driving the car?

Finally, is the a/r dependant on boost level? For example if im only running 10 psi it wont show a chokeing symptop up in the high rpm, whereas if i was running 20 psi it would show.

One more thing..... How much psi can the gt35r push or is it strictly limited to the whp the motor is pushing out at that psi? i think the gt35r is rated at 600 wheel.

any help appreciated. thanks guys. I need to hit 450+ wheel next season.

The 1.03 is a housing change away. It can be possible to see power dropping in the high RPM range if the housing is too restrictive. That's more likely at higher boost levels. 600 wheel might be possible with race gas and over 20 psi of boost.

im hoping to only run pump gas with water/meth injection and get away with this. i definately dont want to run race gas. Guess we will see what happens.

Good pistons and mabe rods, 450-500 is do able!!!! Go for it.

My mitsubishi TDO-6 18G (GMC Cyclone turbo) dosnt have any lag and I think 20PSI is easely do able.

Keep us updated on the project!!

It depends on what you are more worried about, spool up rpm or top end. Either way I bet youll be right around 500whp on meth.

.82 can support the hp that you want no problem. Like I said before, the .63 can support 500 whp so I dont' know why you want to go bigger
