Yesterday I went with some friends to Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI, where I competed in and won the Buick/Olds/Pontiac Day Bracket Shootout. There were some late model FWD's, and a ton of 60's and 70's V8 muscle, and I beat em all with the little 5 speed sedan that could. Got a nice trophy too. I'll post video up and tell the story a little better later.

Yes you are right I was mistaken, but it is not ForceFed from factory. I could have sworn they were. But beyond that he shows the options codes in a page there, call a dealer and give them the code they can look it up. Or do a search on google for it, you will probably find its true, I have personally seen these cars. Not the ones in the page but the '92 STE 5spds, and they were owned by people who would not convert it...1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

Well I emailed him and he said there were 57 made and it was confirmed by PMD, wich I have to assume mean Pontiac Motor Divison, but he can't show me where he's getting the info. Hopefully he can, I think that would cool, even though my car didn't come factory 5 speed. I also asked him for his VIN so I could confirm the options myself, but he wouldn't give it to me.Last edited by OldSkoolGP; 06-07-2006, 06:10 PM.I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Digging up an old thread I know....Just wanted to say that the "57" 5spd/DOHC equipped 1992 Grand Prix STE's were confirmed by Pontiac. Here's a production numbers breakdown for STE's that a member of the W-body board got by contacting Pontiac(through the "Pontiac Cares" service).
"1991
4-Door Sedan - STE (all) 4,308
w/3.1L V-6 - 3,391
w/3.4L V-6 - Manual - 125
w/3.4L V-6 - Auto - 792
1992
4-Door Sedan - STE (all) 1,127
w/3.1L V-6 - 499
w/3.4L V-6 - Manual - 57
w/3.4L V-6 - Auto - 571
1993
4-Door Sedan - STE (all) 533
w/3.1L V-6 - 172
w/3.4L V-6 - Manual - 1
w/3.4L V-6 - Auto - 360"
I've seen at least one of those 5spd/DOHC STE's in person and two or three in pictures. I may still have some pictures of one that was posted a few years back kicking around on one of my old harddrives..I'll search for those soon.
