If the trans fluid was as bad as Kyle says it was, there's a chance it'll gain marginally better times. Good fluid equals efficient shifting and less power lost to friction.

No, you can run type f, and a better cooler and im sure the better shifts will equal better times. Im not sure how much bad fluid will cause it to slow down though either.

I took it back tonight (9/23/05). Today during school i had installed a honda civic air intake on it. Cut 6 inches off and it workes great. Then i took it to the track. Stupid me on the way filled up with gas, i still dont know why i didnt on the way back. Anyway, My fastest time was a 16.241 @85.62. Not bad for just a $40 intake. Now i need to get a job and buy your chip Ben. And i figured out that when you have an aftermarke intake that you need to keep the thing cool. I need to build a heatshield now. Thanks for most of the replies. I am the car on the right.

I am not an expert on the 3.4, but that looks like too much wheel spin based on yout 60ft. Most of my runs as an auto netted 2.20 60 fts and 16.1's usually followed. For every tenth off your 60ft its equal to 2 off youy quarter. So if you can hook up with say airin down your tires or stickier fresh rubber you may see a 15.8-16.0 if you can get from a 2.4 to a 2.2. 15.8-16.0 is where a stock 3.4 auto should be if I am not mistaken.

Mid 16s are average for non modded 3.4s. Shouldn't be much wheel spin stock. I would blame it more on in-experience at launch. I like brake torquing to 2 grand. Less bog and load time at launch. Nice R/T.

And the change to type F fluid gives a more positive shift. Either have it flushed, or change it 3 times to get rid of the Dexron.

No wheelspin at all actually. I tried the torque braking thing. My brakes are way too bad to get a semi-high RPM with out moving the car. My 60 foot times didnt improve at all. I think that the problem was that my gas tank was full. My previous visit to the track i had a 60* of 2.388. That was on less than a half tank of gas. This time was on a full tank. Could that be the problem? I was wondering if this could be contributed to the timing being off? I really want to get that changed to +6 -6, but i really need a ballpark figure. How much do you think a chip from here would gain me in the 1/4mile? Any one have the dogebone from FFP? Thanks for the help all.

And one other thing, is that R/T really that good? I am only 16 and im not really sure what a "good R/T" is considered. Thanks again.

i got a 16.21 with a 2.213 60 ft. He could get much better 60 foots with more practice. I get good launches because of my new wide tires and stiff suspension.

i bet your car is 15sec capable easily with the right launch

How do you launch better with an automatic? Give it gas and have your foot on the brake and wait untill the light gets to the third yellow light and then floor it and let off the gas? I dont see how you could improve your times if you get around the same r/t. The way i did that was to just floor it when the third yellow light came on. How could you improve your technique doing just that? Thanks for the suggestions.

Here is a suggestion..Don't crumple your time slips. :P

Really, your car is doing just fine for the mods you have, and 1/4 sec R/T is very good. I have had as high as 1.2, but I was under the influence of age.

When you go test and tune, you are racing yourself. If you feel good about it, and had fun, it's all good.

.2 is good for your first time but not good racing against someone who knows what they are doing. Mess around with your spot on the tree. I leave when the second yellow goes out and go .030 average. Or you could keep your spot and go in deep(turn the top stage light off) and that is usually worth about a tenth off your R\T. BTW my 95 3.4 only goes 15.8

bend over, that sums it up. Why don't you call them up so you know exactly what it costs vs what a bunch of people online are guessing or saying what a different dealership paid? ive heard 600-1200+.

Fuck that then. Ben, if i got your chip would you have to adjust for the timing possibly being off? I just really want to get in the 15s.
