What should a Stock (93) 3.4 DOHC GTP RUN IN A 1/4 NE ONE HAVE ANY IDEAS

It depends whether this is an auto, or one of the rare 5-speeds, and how it's driven. Weather and track conditions also come into play alot. I would say that if you can run between 16.0 and 16.5 you should be happy. This would be for a stock car. Of course as you add mods, you will get faster. OldSkoolGTP is running in the high 14s with limited traction.

miMy '92 with a standard shift ran 15.5@90. I know a better lauch could've been in order but thats how fast i got mine to roll. But I did a few things to mine like a bigger exhaust, freer flowing mufflers and a program retune. They would probably do a high 15- low 16 something stock with a Standard shift.

i ran a 17.2 pretty much stock and a 16.9 how it was when i sold it. but thats at 5800'. should be about 1s faster at sea level. those arent very good numbers, though.

my 16.9 was with tuning via a powrtuner. i did not fully tune it, though.

the new one has a chip but im not sure if its tuned at all, not that it matters now, anyway, it just has AIR and EGR delete. i hope to take it to a track real soon. too bad i didnt get any numbers before doing all this work.

Old thread but...


My old 93 Auto Z ran 16.3s with just a Magnaflow catback. I eventually got it to run a 15.7@88 and the only other thing done to it was a shitty as hell intake and 40 degree weather.

Now with my 5 speed the first time i took it to the track after it was running a little better it ran a 16.7 @84. I was pissed. So i got a 2.5inch Magnaflow catback, better intake, FFP motormount, 60*chip, and had a go. It ran a 16.2 @86. Now i think the timing is waaay out of wack b/c it runs like shit, but earlier this month in 50* weather i took the headlight out and iced the intake and ran a 15.411 @ 89.3. But here is the funny thing, i got a 2.5 60ft on that but the run before, same conditions mind you, i ran a 15.7 @87 with a 2.25 60ft, WTF??? Those runs were with 440 treadwear Goodyear Eagles, so I bought a set of Fuzion HRIs with a 400 treadwear(hell of a lot sticker feeling) and ran it last week and the POS couldn't get a decent 60ft for the life of it. My best 60ft was like 2.5 and i ran a 15.9@87, it was 25 degrees warmer.

I wish my car was consistent in all weather, and with the headlight in or out. I think i am going to get a new motor and get the timing set at +6, -6. I think with my mods i should at least be trapping 90mph with the headlight in and not having to ice the intake.
