well i've been looking into having a 3400 swapped in but noone's really "comfortable" with swapping seeing there's quite a few parts to swap of the 3100.
or either i could just swapped the uim/lim manafold.
Man personally, just swap the uim and lim... that's the best bang for the buck right there. I have heard of too many 3100's and 3.1's that walk 3400's.. I dont know if I would do that if I were you ya know?
'93 Sunbird. 5spd, 3.1, it's fast. Oh, and 240k miles has proven lethal against Turbo Talons
I'm lurking occasionaly. It's tough because I'm usually too busy with the Army or my 5.0 Mustang. Which is for sale.
yea i read the 99+ gagt runs 0-60 high 7's.
and my ga runs low 8's.
plus if my and my friend gagt was on the highway he'll hit his speed limiter before i whould.....
they say ALL 3.1 and 3100 are junk motors...why becuase of the lim.
i don't think so my baby has been putting up with my shit and she still runs.
Ya I read about about these numbers, and read about the power offsets, but man I just honstly believe we're better off w/ our 3.1/3100 motors. And ya know what? Tell whomever is saying the 3.1 and 3100 are jnk motors due to gaskets, that the 3400 has the same exact problems And its only when they overheat. I've had three 3.1's, and they are some tank motors man. Very tough.

the 00+ 3100 gets most of it's hp/tq from the u/lim intake valves and injectors.
so with the upper/lower intake.
exhaust upgrade....ehh i should be up there with the 99+ gagt's.
plus i think if the exhaust was fixed she can be quicker!
Yeppers, you are absolutely correct on the first part. Just stick with what ya've got. Heck.. I'ma stick w/ my 3.1 too just because I love old-school
But on a side note, last night I raced a 5spd 3.8 Camaro w/ 3" exhaust as teh only obvious mod. I had my wife and her sister in the car. And my car was only firing (still is) on 5 cylinders due to a fouled plug. He didn't pull hardly at all, and had I been less 2-people and plus one-cylinder, I honestly believe I would have raped him.
