  • 1996 Beretta 3400 vs 1993 Sentra SE-R

The 1993 Sentra SE-R has a Hot Shot CAI and header...its timing is advanced a bit. Theres a few problems though.....one of the header secondaries has a dent, there is an exhaust leak, and a motor mount is broken. Plus, it is on Yokohama Intermediates...summer tires....they don't grip....at all...in cold weather. Hence the 10 mph roll ons.

My car has recently recieved a 2001 3400. Bolt-ons include a Fast Forward Performance UDP, RSM Racing's WAI, and a Ghetto Fabrications 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust. I am on bald 195/70 14 tires. The camera technition (Quincy) rode in my car....thats another 210 lbs.

We first did a series of low speed roll-ons...

Then we got the bright idea to do a standing start race...

Note the wheelspin the SE-R got.

Then, we did a 55 mph roll on. This puts the SE-R at the bottom of third (out of power) and me in the meat of my powerband in 2nd.

See what happens when you work metallic brake pads?

Now we tried a 40 mph roll on....this puts me at the bottom of second and ther SE-R at a decent rpm in his second.

Later, we went out and recorded a governor run and a second gear pull...

Compare that to my 3100 governor run...

I should have the same mods to both motors.

Even though the SE-R was sick....I am happy with my cars performance. After driving the new motor for a bit I was hoping for a 15.5 at best....now I think a 15.3 should be in order....given decent tires and track conditions.

Doesn't sound like the Sentra comes all the way up in revs. Kinda like he's short shifting. Either way, that's pretty cool, and it'd be a fun little car to drive, I think.

Wow... I cooked my Sunbird's brakes like that once... it was a good lesson tho... never use riveted brake pads!!!

The pad pretty much disentegrated after getting hot... left a bare metal plate with rivets poking out to use as brakes.

What are you talking about I see people with thoes sweet grooved rotors all the time. They stop fine with the back brakes only.

            LOL I hate junk parts.
