I think the guy didn't have a whole lot into the project. Maybe it's on line I'd have to search.

there are a crapload of those up here in bc. they are sold by mercedies as the smart car. they are a 3 cyl diesel with a 6 speed clutch-less standard transmission. despite the small size, the car is a giant rollcage. there is a vid of one hitting a wall at 70mph and both doors still opened. localy, one hit a ford explorer head on, the explorer was pushed back to the firewall, the smart car drove away.

something tells me that with a head on collision, the smart car would just bounce up and catapult around for a bit until it settles down. But yeah a smaller passenger cabin has the potential to have better integrity than a large one, if designed right.Brian

Oh yeah, I'd drive one!
Can't view the site yet (flash issues for me), but 70mpg sounds good. And tiny european diesels have just gotta be good.
If the top speed is 60mph, that won't be a good thing though. I think it oughta be capable of 75-80 to be viable for anything outside of surface street driving. I damn sure wouldn't want to be stuck doing 60 through "Death Valley" on I-40 in Greensboro.60v6's original Jon M.

Hey Greensboro!!! I went to high school at Walter Page! class of '93!sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.
