God forbid I ask someone for proof when they give hp gain numbers for modifications.

    AHAHHAHA!!!

It is common knowledge that ALL CAIs gain 5-10hp, whether if its a 3-cyl 90hp Geo or a 500hp LS7. I thought everyone knew that...

interesting, why would you produce stuff for a motor and not test it to see that it actually works? Is this milzy company MRDD based or something? I can port heads and stuff, doesnt mean that they are actually good. I dunno, maybe im crazy but wouldnt you want to keep a stock car/motor setup available to test mods on before you market them?

I think it's a reasonable request; hell, I wish people could tell me how much that big coffee can I slapped on my tailpipe would help, but no one knows . . . It's gotta be worth at least 30 . . . right?!!

He hasn't tested anything he has produced. He relies on the customer to test it after they install it. He produced the cam for the 3x00s and nothing was ever tested on it until it was installed in the first customer's car. He is still waiting on gains from the stage 1 cam, but none of his customers have taken their cars to the dyno for before/after runs, so he just theorizes how much of a gain it is.

Oh, and this is the same guy who runs a shop via the internet and at least 3 times has asked people to host pictures of new products for him.... Yet everyone thinks he is a god.

thats ok, i think he's a retard and i am the only one who counts.

to sell parts, claiming increases, and not have dyno proof to show the gains are true, should be a crime.

That is BS that he can claim those HP gains w/o proof. I mean didn't you dyno a car with the chip Ben? Not trying to get off topic but, what would a cone filter do to a 1st gen LQ1?

                  Would this hurt performance?

Well, the topic was about manifolds but milzy and someone else thought it was about cold air intake that sucks up air from under the car. Either way neither of those are likely to be 5-10 hp unless its crank hp. Oh wait, thats all milzy likes to use even though he doesn't use an engine dyno. Break out the calculators for the guesstimation math of 20% drivetrain loss. Oh wait, intense does that sort of math so it must be legit. Heh.

Yes, I have dynoed my chips which is why I do claim HP gains on them. I don't claim any hp gains on my port work or other products as I haven't dynoed them.

You know what the most ironic thing of all this is? Milzy is an L67 owner that didn't give a fuck about 60V6s until he wanted to make more money than just selling 3800 stuff. If you have known me for a while, you know my history with L67 owners.

Milzy pffft. As soon as I saw his site I thought "Shit here comes another JBP clone" He has no cam specs posted which was the first indication an amateur was at work. Maybe he is a bit better than JBP if he delivers on time. But if it were me I would just bypass him and go right to the sources of his parts.

i take it you do not have alot of fans on mm huh ben?

i can't say i go there very often anymore. the lq1 section is usually pushing a 98 and 2% split. 98% of the topics are usually the same repair questions over and over and the other 2% is usually about CAI's or something. although i have made some contacts from there and the members that do care about modification(at least the lq1) usually come over here to post.

for my situation, milzy is a necessary evil IMO as there are not an aundance of lq1 parts(or people willing to make them) floating around and sometimes you have to take what u can get and if it is flawed, change it later.

i believe he and eric(ez112) are going to work together to try and further tune those headers he sold him. i believe eric also bought a set of mikes intake manifolds so maybe they can do a be4 and after or maybe they can come up with some stockers to dyno against.

i'm making my own headers, but ummm, they wont work for a stock configured LQ1.

i don't see anyone as a necessary evil. if i think they're an ass, they flat out don't need my business, and i'll make what i need.
