Okay, I know this doesn't have to do with the engine itself but I need help. The dealership wants to replace the ignition switch to fix my passlock problem for $255. I don't want to pay that. So what I am asking is if I could do it myself. Is it the ignition switch that needs to be replaced to fix this? And how hard of a job is it for my to go in and do it. I am mechanically inclined I just haven't ever worked on a car newer than 1979. So I'm an old school guy. Please help, I'd rather spend the $90 for the IS myself and not pay all the money for a dealership part and laber. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Oh yeah, it's a 1999 Grand Am SE V6
