  • No luck for Me

Well, my transmission finally decided it was giving up.

    199,218 miles on it.

We're checking to see if I can afford to have it replaced, but money is tight. Well, this morning they call me wanted $3k for a replacement and labor. Well my car is worth what, $20, so no.

We're trying to get a cheap price from garages I know. Got one at $1500 for the whole deal. I'm looking forward to getting rid of this... thing.

Dude, that sucks. If you want to go the junkyard route, I can hook you up with a good trans with a 90 day warranty ( I think its 90, I'll have to check) but the yard is in Duluth, kind of a drive from Bloomington.
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.

Well, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I might just sell the car. I need something newer (Something with AC).

either way do the tranny, whether you keep or sell it. even put in a j/y unit and sell it. car is worth $20 with a bad tranny and $1000 with a working one?

I know how you feel. Eventhough I don't have your milage, after 10 years these cars just fall apart.

I don't think I'll be keeping the car. I have no garage, and no where to keep it. I would love too do a 5-speed swap... damn. Now I'm more pissed. lol

The car is worth $20 either way. doh. lol
