So I just bought an 01 lumina a little while back. This car has only one cupholder, and Chevrolet had the foresight to place it directly in front of the radio. After roughly 5 years of occasional splashes from assorted sugary liquids, several of the radio buttons tend to stick. Is there any magic trick to clean these without damaging the radio? I'd rather not take it apart, and I doubt that spraying water on it is a good idea. Maybe rubbing alcohol? Some aerosol that I'm not aware of? Any ideas?

i'd probly try water, if you go distilled water it probbly not be as prone to do damage. heck its got pop in it, how much can water hurt? if you got alchohol its probly the better choice, denatured would be best. it would at least be a cleanser and not just revive the syrup into pop form to dry back on and be back as square one. heck i just shot myself down didnt i?
either way just make sure its off, or disconnected, so you dont hurt anything. water doesnt really hurt stuff unless there current to flow and short out. i drowned a radio shack R/C truck, the electronics were submerged and once it dried out it was fine.If you aren't friends with a liar, you aren't friends with anyone.

It took me a second to figure out what he meant by "pop". Us simple folk just call it coke. Like posted above, unplug the radio and clean it but make sure you dry it soon.
