  • Good news...

So, Canadian Tire has been pissing me off latley, with their phoney attitude and just alot of stuff. Such as my Gf, she works there too, and she was promised a raise after 3 months. Well 3 months rolls round, and the guy (Mark) says, "Raise, you weren't promised no raise!" So she quit and just alot of other crap has been going on. I went to look around at dealerships and stuff, and I got a job at Honda, as a service advisor. :> I start in 2 weeks, and best news is, it is literally across the street, like I walk out the front door, and walk like 20 feet I run into the big H sign on the wall. lol. So, I hope this works out, and the pay is way better too

That sucks about C-tire. A buddy of mine just quit there too. He started doing tires and batteries with the hope of eventually apprenticing as a service tech. But after like 3 months of $9 an hour he quit. His boss was a dick and they won't even CONSIDER an apprenticeship until you have worked there for at LEAST, 12 months. Of course, like you said, they make no promises of anything that could result in more pay.

Which is so fucked because organizations like that are going to be so fucked in a couple years. Because of the massive trade worker shortage, they are already jumping through hoops up north, just to get a skeleton crew of guys to come and work.

Not to mention. What single guy can afford to live in Edmonton, Alberta for $9 an hour? Insane, your insurance premiums alone, potentialy could eat up over half of that.
