  • Advise on some upgrades for the gtp/and a blazer question?!

    Well i resently had my truck totalled looks like the insurance company is gonna cut me a half desent check for my ol toyota tacoma...well anyways..im gonna have a few bucks to spair....thought id do a few mods i been meaning to do...

    1.) Is a good transmission cooler...what is everyone using....are u guys eliminating the radiator one n using one seperate? Or useing both n just replacing the factory exterenal for a bigger?

    2.) I have some gauges..i wanna use , what are you guys using for a gauge pod , any other car that might fit good w.out alot/mods? Or does someone make one for our cars.

    3.) A good rear brake upgrade...factory 92 stuff gotta go. Also front cross drill rotors how much n where do i get em?!

    4.) I have 2 1/2 exhaust system w/2 flowmasters n high flow cat...yup it sounds like shit...as anyone tryed 1 muffler with dual out lets?
    If so do you have pics for sound clip?

    I bought a 1994 Jimmy 4.3 vortec to replace my toyota..the truck needs CPI?! Does anyone have one or know where i can get one used? Gm wants 600$ for new one..n i dont wanna aftermarket brand

    GM is the only place I know of for the injector, if that is what you need, since "CPI" actually refers to the system, not a specific part. "Central Port Injection", basically it is a single injector with 6 tubes that run to each intake runner, and odd set-up.

      Those injectors are available at Autozone... they're a few hundred bucks if i remember correctly...

        run as big of a tranny cooler as you want. just make sure it goes through the factory radiator cooler AFTER that. it will regulate the fluid temp back to the trans. cold fluid is almost as bad as too hot(burning it). auto trannys and fluid are designed to run a certain temp. i've seen a huge cooler on a tow truck not run through the radiator to regulate the temp and the cold fluid actually cracked parts in the tranny (running at around 20 below f.).

          There are tranny cooler with thermostatically controlled cooling fans. That would be the best.

            I ended gettin a one for a street rods that like 30 inches long n 4 inches tall n mounted it down low where the air goes through the air-damn..basically bridged it off the stock cooler lines..n put a gauge on one of the lines thanx for advise
