Looks good. Good symmetry and definition. Can't see the levators very well, but your neck doesn't seem quite as developed as the rest of your upper.... You been doing your shrugs?

Bah, don't listen to me... It's probably the pose.

Give details of your workout regimen, please!

I'm doing a Low-volume-progressive workout which is doing good things in terms of strength and hypertrophy... Although metabolically it's not as good. Not much good for fat-burn, although my waist has gone down 2"... And I've gained 15lbs. Before I started I was on the high-side of "normal" for BMI index (or low side of "slightly overweight, depending on what scale you used) I'm sticking with it for another 3-months, then switching to some hard-core plyometrics. I don't want to be huge, just cut. But for now, I'm in the build-up phase of my workout plan.

I do countless reps with 12 and 16 oz. weights, that progressively get lighter per rep. I am ripped! :P

levators???? wtf is that the traps?
I am sure my neck muscles are strong enough, being a wrestler and doing bridges all day really make ur neck big

explain to me more about your workout your using broad terms and need to specify more

what would you like to know about my workout routein

thats a pretty much a latspread/double bicep pose the the neck muscles won't show much,i do shurg but the traps are stubborn muscles liek calves
but heres another weak pic of my upper back
i also took this pic when the other one was taken

Yeah, it was the pose. I screwed up when I said "shrugs." Mostly 'cos mine always ache when I do really heavy shrugs. I'm sure it's a form problem... Shrugs work the Trapesius muscles...

                        levator scapulae http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/LevatorScapulae.html.

Low-Volume High Intensity is basically a fast-gain beginner-intermediate program. Basically, doing 80-90% 1RM weight on target exercises, minimum 8 reps, ONE set (with a single 1/2 weight warmup before hand). Builds strength and muscle FAST, but will eventually peak out.

Start with 80-90% 1RM weight, and work to exhaustion on a single set. Tricky to start, you need to experiment to get the weights right. The idea is that if you work to exhaustion (loss of form) at 8 reps, you try for 9 the next cycle day etc, until you reach 12. Then you throw on 5-15% weight to bring you back to 8.

Alternate on a 5-day workout, Push, Pull, Legs/Cardio, Push, Pull Monday-to-Friday.

It took some getting used to, since you don't get the post-workout burn/tired in quite the same way. Recovery is awesome. The 2 day break between cycles means I'm fresh for a good lift the next cycle.

But strength gains come fast, along with mass. I'm adding on average 5% to the weights every week on the monday, and I'm ready to progress usually by the friday.

It won't last forever. It's a pure strength/mass program. Not much there for endurance or power. Once I plateau, I'm switching to Plyos anyway.

Advantages: are less over-training, faster recovery, and rapid advancement. Less injury since exercises are controlled bursts, and intensity increase is measured and controlled. FAST workout. Get more exercises in. Less recovery time needed since you can move to a separate non-complementary group

Disadvantages: Not terribly good for metabolic changes. Not much fat-burn, almost no anaerobic endurance benefit other than what can be translated from increased muscle mass.

For example: Here's my push for this week. Reps are in brackets, and are my previous best. I measure the weight by a the disks on one side. Total weight is kinda weird 'cos the gym has any number of variables... Even more fun are the cables, since some have multiple pulleys It's mostly a reference for me so I can keep track of my progress and break any plateaus with forced reps (which suck ass. Bad)

                        Chest:
                        Incline bench 45(12)
                        Decline Bench 50(11)
                        Flat Bench 55(9)
                        Pec Fly (lever) 160(10)

                        Tricep
                        DB Kickbacks 30(11)
                        Standing overhead cable extension 100(12)
                        Standing cable tricep pulldown 75(10)
                        Close-Grip bench 80(10)

                        Ant. Delts:
                        Shoulder Bar Press 35(12)
                        Arnold press(dumbbells) 45(11)
                        Front shoulder raise 30(

Target is 2-4 different exercises per group, time dependant

I'm curious, do you still wrestle? I used to do some free-style jujitsu (which is what I want to get back into), and it always seemed to me that the larger muscled ones tended to burn out quicker when grappling. Of course, that's my own observation. I was able to take down some guys that were pretty heavily built, usually by sinking my hooks in and waiting for them to tire out. Then attacking the usually weaker neck or shoulder rotators. Then again, I've also been forcibly torn OFF opponents and actually hurled across the room. Weird sensation that!

This of course might be something peculiar to Jujitsu... Form and flexibility would invariably triumph over brute strength. But then, I've never actually taken and formal WRESTLING training... Just the occasional tidbit borrowed and taught in Mixed Martial Arts. I hope I'm not coming off as condenscending. I'm curious... Not trying to put you down

I would assume that you are doing some serious endurance exercises... But I was always told that endurance exercises actually tended to DECREASE muscle mass...

Body-building is SO confusing. I'm just doing what works for me

never heard of that muscle but now i do

i usually shrug with 315 but it hurts the hands and hard to hold on to it. i usually do 10-15 reps with that

I just played football and wrestled in h/s my college doesn't offer sports cause its strickly auto and its in a hick town so they don't play foose ball

but i am transfering and looking at a school that offers sports

but i'll tell you want i was in amazing shape endurance wise and would detrot people in 30-60sec. people say strength doesn't play a big roll, but combine that with endurance and lots of skill and you got a machine

idk bout you but wrestling hands down was something i could take alot of anger and agression out on, i often left people with bloody noses/lips.

but you don't win being a pussy

its prolly my fav sport because its all you thats it, i did alot of running and straight wrestling will up the endurance, no i don't do as much endurance stuff as i was bulking up since november

                          definitly a interesting workout routine

so u know lifting real heavy will build muscle fast like 5 sets of 5 and ect.

i don't go by push pull workout but usually it end out being like that i just go by body parts

i usually do 5 diff exercises for large muscle groups and 2-3 for small. or depending on how i feel i may do more or less

today i benched but i already benched on monday, but i went to my buddy's h/s and had to show em what was up

                          so we did
                          185 10 times
                          205 10 times
                          225 10times
                          245 10 times
then 275 i was burn out so i did only 5

he did a few less on each but not bad

i can post more info if u want i just am in a rush
