  • Canadian Conservative Win

Well, guys Canada now has it's own version of Dubya. His name is Stephen Harper. Here are some of his perks. He has the worst environmental agenda, worst education agenda, worst social agenda, planning on privatizing the health care system, plans to re-illegalize same sex marrige, and among other things, for the icing on the cake, big plans for monster corporate tax cuts.

Oh, and if he were in power two years ago, we would be in Iraq with you guys now. So, if Dubya wants to bust in on Iran, I'm sure Harper will try his best to have us follow you in. It has been said that, "If Bush smiles you can see the top of Harpers head."

I'm afraid of this guy, I don't think any good will come of him. Everytime a Conservative government is in power, provicial or federal, they always fuck things up.

Agreed. Luckily they are not a majority so they will have to sway the Liberals and NDP.

I was hoping for Liberals again since they know how to take care of money.

Also harper wants to lower GST. That is the worst fucking idea I have ever herd. How do you fix things with no Money? Oh wait he will just put us into more debt that the Liberals were trying to pay off.

Idiots voted for Conservative. Its simple as that. They got suckered into the "Were not Liberal" campaign they were running. Well if you were so against Liberal you should have voted NDP.

i can say i voted conservetive, but thats just because the conservitive MP is realy good, and the rest are douchebags. the way i look at it, you just gotta vote for your MP, especialy in western canada, were your vote realy doesnt count. i beleive between bc, alberta and sask. there are under 10 seats, were quebec has something like 63 seats. i mean realy, how can you think your vote counts when one province has more seats than the entire western canada???

Agree'd Manitoba has 14 seats. As much as I disslike Harper and don't like his agenda... Some change did have to come about in Ottawa. I only voted con representative for the guy in our riding.

Martin was not a great PM at all... He might have been a good finance Minister but he was not a great Prime Minister. I voted Liberal the last 2 elections.

I do agree.. Its fawking rediculous when a provence has the seats that they do and then they have a party that is only a regional party for that provence but get to deside and partake in National debates... yet they do not allow the smaller "Green" parties to partake.

I like how everyone was saying when Harper gets in he's just going to bow down and sell us to the Americans...

If he does something about standing up for the softwood lumber issues that we are getting fucked over by then I'll really be impressed with him. But none the less I'm impressed that he did stand up for this:

Harper brushes off U.S. criticism of Arctic plan
Last Updated Thu, 26 Jan 2006 08:09:54 EST
              CBC News

Prime minister-designate Stephen Harper took aim at the American ambassador's criticism of the Conservative Arctic sovereignty plan on Thursday, in the Tory leader's first news conference since winning a minority government.

"The United States defends its sovereignty and the Canadian government will defend our sovereignty," Harper told reporters in Ottawa. "It is the Canadian people we get our mandate from, not the ambassador of the United States."

A day earlier, David Wilkins, the U.S. ambassador to Canada, said his government opposes Harper's proposed plan to deploy military icebreakers in the Arctic to detect interlopers and assert Canadian sovereignty over those waters.

"There's no reason to create a problem that doesn't exist," Wilkins said as he took part in a forum at the University of Western Ontario in London.

"We don't recognize Canada's claims to those waters... Most other countries do not recognize their claim."

During the federal election campaign, which culminated in Harper's win earlier this week, the Conservatives promised to spend $5.3 billion over five years to defend northern waters against the Americans, Russians and Danes.

"Sovereignty is something, you use it or you lose it," Harper said at the pre-Christmas announcement in Winnipeg.

His plan included the construction and deployment of three new armed heavy icebreaking ships, as well as the eventual construction of a $2-billion deepwater port in Iqaluit and an underwater network of "listening posts."

At the time, Harper wouldn't say whether he would order military action if the ships or port detected an unauthorized submarine in Arctic waters.

Wilkins said he doesn't think that kind of military buildup is necessary in the Far North.

"We are simply having a disagreement on this," he said on Wednesday. "We have agreed to disagree, and there's no reason ... to say, 'There's a problem that's occurring and we gotta do something about it.'"

Wilkins also said he expects less anti-American sentiment from Harper's minority government, and added that he called Harper to offer congratulations on his election victory.

Also on Thursday, Harper acknowledged he had "a very friendly conversation" with U.S. President George W. Bush a day earlier, and hoped to arrange a meeting as soon as the leaders' schedules permit.

Austrailia went conservative just recently. I can see it now with Bush #43 silouette on Mount Rushmore monument. With keeping terriorism out of North America and reforming Social Security with HSA's, he'll surely be up there with Ronald Regan.

                  [ ] Liberal
                  [ ] Conservative

Me, I just punched a big hole in the ballot, undid my fly, and did to it what any one of those three assclowns are going to do to our country.

Even needed a cigarette after voting?
