  • im buyin a house!!!

    hehehehehehehehehehe, im stoked!

    2 br 1 bath
    full unfinished basement
    great neighborhood

    1 car oversized garage
    vinyl siding
    thermal windows
    large fenced back yard

all the flooring is new besides the hardwood in the bedrooms, the cabinets are in great shape, the countertop is perfect and all the house is freshly painted

the only downsides i see are that it has no fridge/stove/hood/dishwasher (which i dont really care about, but it has a gap in the cabinets for one) (but that gives me the oppurtinuity to buy all new energy star stuff, so im excited about that) and the furnace is pretty old

oh and the neighbor is one of the nice alton cops, so thats a perk (since im over 21 i like cops now )

Sweet! Congrats on the purchase. I take it, its your first house? Awesome feeling to purchase your own home. Its great to have your own place. We bought our first house a year and a half ago.

Cheers! When do you move in?

NO! , its about the farthest point from the river as it could be and still be in the city

and please never remind me of the flood of 93 again... being without running water and having the downtown region of your town sucks

That's awesome. No better investment than realestate.

I just recently bought a Condo, my first place too. Still under construction though, won't be moving in until mid march. But very stoked.

I'm even more stoked because since we bought the place, in september, it has already increased in value by $10000.00. The housing market is crazy here.

Owning homes is awesome. We moved in to ours in September of 2004. We're in the process of a serious remodel, and it's fun. Gonna be a lot nicer when it's done. I think in the end, it's costing more to own, instead of rent, but it's ours. That's nice.

                  Good luck with yours.

We bought ours in June of this year and have been remodelling ever since! And for us, we are actually paying less each month for the mortgage and insurance than we where renting before the renter's insurance. We've almost got the the biggest main part of the remodel done, now its going to be major room renovations. First will most likely be the kitchen, then enclosing the car port during the spring (woohoo, 1 car garage...), and possibly an addition to enlarge a bathroom and closet during the summer. Then there is always getting inside access to the basement and finishing that out as well.

And you guys wonder why it takes so long sometimes to get updates to the site completed...

C'grats! Thats alaways a big step! Alton seems to be a decent town and does have a history. But hell, you got the bridge 15 away, 20 on the otherside to see some open air concerts and unlimited shopping.. I have some family who live there and Godfrey who seem to like the area. East Alton.... Is it still like it used to be?

                        Congratz

Major plans for my home is a 400 sq foot utility basement, depending on the price I may go house long.... With a foundation added to the exsisting house for the 400 sq foot basement, this will add a master bedroom with 350ish useable. This plan includes moving the garage center on my lots length wise with a under ground basement attatched double sealed vented hallway. I want to get close to 2500 sq feet in my house and I have over 1/8th acre to work with, the guy that owns the party house next to me offerd me 125 by 5 but will wait untill he totally trashes his house lol his lot is already underkept.

But for now I am planning on drywalling the back two rooms and upgrading the insulation wall and attic.

Thermal windows are expensive, I put 7 in so far.
                        I am back
