I guess I don't understand the need for a member number either though........ Just because a person got in at number 5 doesn't mean they know anything more than number 120+ (in this case, I would rather take the advice of #120+ if it was Brad!).

i agree with the loosing of the post counts. i know you guys think i am just a post-whore, but i only post in the treads here when i run out of other things to do, there are a limited amount of threads that i can actually be helpfull in i just hope that we can get along now, i plan to no longer post in this or um other than the MM discusion going on right now

Id rather just remove the post count and have more titles just set to random post counts, so no one really knows what they mean.

there is a PHPBB mod Im considering that allows members to rank the posts of people.

The ranks are something like 1-5 1 being least usefull on the topic 5 being most usefull. This results in a score that tell you at a glance if that member regually posts usefull information or crap.

It seems like a good idea but Im still looking over some of the negative implications like artifically boosting ones score and someone getting a lower score just becasue another member does not like them.

i say just screw the post count and rating system totally. You find out very easily who posts absolute garbage, and who posts usefull information.

this is true, people hang around a bit and they can normally figure it out. I wanted a system like that so that newbies could quickly identify who knows thier stuff and who talks out thier ass
