I've been trying to convince the admins at bstuff.com to no longer count posts in the off topic section too. I've always thought it would be a good idea.

haha, my monte does the same thing, I havent put in the mod to disable the count in those forums, but the non tech fourms are pruned of all old posts every month or so which removes the count for the posts that were made in that fourm, its already decreased the whorage on MM in the past week, thank god

I agree Brad! It's a good idea. Personally, post counts are kind of worthless on a board like this.

I don't like having the 2nd highest post count.. when I'm not even a moderator. I just have too much time on my hands at this period of time.

Id rather just remove the post count and have more titles just set to random post counts, so no one really knows what they mean.

thats what we have done on MM, I still need to remove the post count from the profile but its gone from the threads, I replced it with member number. Something that really shows how long you been around.

i think the post count should be killed all tother perhaps then, if you only get counted for posting in the tech area, that might influence the whores to b.s. about nothing in those areas.

I thought we might have that problem as well, though there is an established rule that says posts that stray off topic or whore up threads may be deleted, we forewarn them so theres no reason to complain if it happens, if they cant read the rules its thier problem

yeah killing the post number would be good. A member number would be cool.. kinda like a rank
