Ive been on that site since jan 02 and have mostly stuck with the tech section since it was about the engines. Recently, someone on there made a comment that 4 cylinder motors are great for 160 mph but it takes a V8 to have 0-100 performance. Obviously that is flawed as MPH speaks nothing of powerband. The person that said this is a vendor that deals with only V8s. I decided to ask him how he could say that since MPH is based on powerband and gearing, in which he was ignoring. He scoffed at me and acted like I was a child in his thread, and told me to start a new thread if I wanted to argue. Well, i had no intent of starting an arguement, I just wanted to know how someone with his position in the fiero community could make such a comment. I was also curious why no one else was asking wtf he was talking about.

So it seems this guy has a lot of followers on that site and they all gave me a negative rating. Its a shame that cliff is too controlling to allow moderators in which to determine what is too much.

Im not linking to the thread because it doesn't really matter a whole lot. I don't care to be over there since that is how things are run and the people there are content with it (well, most of them are anyway).

Im glad this site doesn't suck:P

I just had a thought. What if everyone on this site and the other sites I belong to sign up on fiero.nl and give everyone a negative. We could literally get everyone on that site banned.

        Hahaha, that would be hilarious.

I was going suggest something similar, though more specifically about the thread in question, which I'd like to see a link to, because I would like to read what he has to say too, for various reasons.

I used to post there quite frequently, until I saw too much closed minded crap, that bigger is better and no way a 60* could amount to anything, blah blah blah, even AFTER there was hard evidence to prove otherwise.

Shit maybe I should find a P-body and build a 660, instead of the chassis I have in mind, just to prove that bigger is not always better. Then maybe run it over with a monster truck or something just to piss teh P-body guys off.

Well it seems obvious that he has no idea what he is talking about and everyone else agrees with him. So I would just avoid the site anyway because anything said would probably be faulty from inexperienced teens trying to talk like they know something anyway. I personally haven't been to that site but now I wouldn't bother going there anyway. Chin up Ben.

Don't fret man, i was so psyked when i got my GTP i joined GP-owners.com, and all of the guys on there are over arrogent old timers who have nothing better to do, than to give the young guys who actually have a personality a hard time.....not to mention they rant to people who do stupid shit on the streets, yet hypocriticaly they have a "street racing/drag racing" forum to post videos, and photos.....they are no better than the kids that dont know the difference between a FAST 4 banger, and a LOUD 4 banger......then they wind up cuting off a minivan with a family of 5 in it and cause them to get into an accident......

I hate the users on there with a passion, when i was with the DSMtuner comunity, asides from the rare non-turbo 420A trash talker, everyone was nicer and more accepting there than in the close minded 3rd gen.org a-holes who think there outdated underpowered l98 cars are the shit....

I love this site because so far, everyone has been nice, hasn't judged, and is always eager to lend there knowledge, and what they have learned with everyone else.

It's good you don't care, i just tell my self that idiots travel in large groups as to make sure they feel smart by sharing there stupidity with others who are, in fact, just as stupid.

I was gonna make that point. There is pretty much not a single DSM owner that i've ever talked to that WASN'T cool. If I had to vote on who was the best community of tuners, it would have to be DSM people. John Shepard is also my personal Jesus Christ.

Of course, with their cars being so easy to make increadibly fast they have no reason to be dicks.

And of course, the total opposite works at J-body.org

Your damn right power is power......for example, to name a few of the cars i pulled away from out of the hole and up top in the cheezy 3100

03 BMW 325i with catback, intake, and chip (walked him rather smoothly)

82-89 (not 90-92) Camaros, formulasFB's and trans-ams, all with the standard q-jet carbed 305's and TBI 305 cars.....(yup...all of them)
                        Even a few 90-92 305 TPI guys.....

Nissan Maxima with the dohc 3.0 claimed 235 BHP...(load of crap if i can stay dead even with one with a claimed 170 BHP

Acura 3.2TL type S from a 60 roll i stayed dead even with him....from the hole he walked me hard i didn't brack tourque it (which would have helped) and the v-tec actually helps on those cars. But even so, my lil OHV 3.1 pulled hard enough to stick right next to him from 60-108 (where my factory speed cut of hits)

This isn't anything to be braging about, its to prove to back up everyones point on here that its not the size or design of the motor, its how and where it makes its power, its HP and TQ curve, and most importantly like you said its gearing. my 1st gear shifts out at 45MPH WOT, then 45-85 is all of second WOT, then 3rd goes all the way to 108 till it hits its speed limiter.

I take pride at looking at these peoples faces when they see im keeping up with them....or if they follow me into a parking lot and ask what ive got done (they all claim i swaped the l67 into it or that im on the go go juice)
telling them its stock with 3 simple DIY mods, and used to be a rental lol is what cracks me up when they hear it

That reminds me of this dune buggy racer my uncle knows. He had a twin rotor wankel mated to a VW trans axle.

It was open header and was the loudest mother of an engine I have ever herd. He made a downshift into 2nd at about 9000RPM and blew the VW trans axle to dust.

I wish they would do away with the rating system they have there at fiero.nl. Too many people try too hard to get positive ratings, and as a result jump at the chance to give any old answer to a question (right or wrong) just to get a rating. In your case, members ganged up and all gave you a negative which was completely uncalled for.

I DO more-or-less like most people there; there are a couple exceptions who I feel are real tools but since they are respected there I won't mention their names. I'm sure they have rated me negative, though.
