  • E Check is History

Not all Ohio'ans had to deal with this. Just 14 counties. But, as of Saturday 12/31/05 at midnight, it is gone..........It was a farce, IMHO, but I am sure the state will find a way to make up the lost revenue from this. (Can't wait)

Get rid of the front plate on my car!! Save some good money. It would be a nice gesture for all the money I, and others spent on a failure. Anyone who dealt with Ohios' E Check knows what I mean.

    Happy New Year!

Thats stupid. Personally I think all emissions testing is a good idea. It makes people keep their cars in check.

It is a good idea if it is done for everyone. Youngstown, Cleveland, Toledo. Coal burning steel. No E Check. There is the stupidity.

nevermind - you guys down south don't have to. up here we still do but it is free instead of $19.50 and they are doing it for at least 2 more years. no matter, my cars are all either older than 25 years, or commercial trucks plated above exemption limit(10,000gvw) even my 1/2 ton

South Dakota has no E check.

Weight Checks that are federal mandated, and if obvious an E check on comercial trucks.

must be nice to have emmisions testing gone. i wish they would get rid of aircare up here. all it does is drive me insane. all they test on my car is idle being the car s rather low (they dont do a driving test on low cars) and i know im gonna have trouble passing that with my lumpy cam.

My mom told me the e-check was gone... She lives in Dayton. It was a joke to begin with.

Here in Austin, Tx. we just picked up e-check. Texas inspections are an even bigger joke. They check if all the lights work and such as well and about half the city has no brake lights and and everyone else can't drive to begin with.

The front plate was on my GTP for the 45 minutes When I went from the car dealer, and drove it home. Then I found the fillter plate for the front. Been like that for a few months. Havent got stopped/ticketed yet... knock on wood.

I've never ran a front plate. Kinda nice, actually. I currently have my car registered in Or. which requires front plates too but I never ran it and never got in trouble for it. When I register the car in Ohio, I will have historicals put on!
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance
