  • Pin offset and other things I need to know

    What would be the pin offset for the 3100 and other engines? I need it for dynomation and really dont know wtf it is.

    sounds like something that might need measured as opposed to being a published fact, never heard of it before i located that link

      Yup, i found something about reversing pistons and such as well. I only have DOHC pistons/rods here that I can measure. Im guessing it will be the same for other motors but would really prefer to know for sure. The more accurate I am feeding it info, the more accurate it is on the results.

        Pin offset is found on pretty much all pistons. It helps counter act the thrust loads cause by the angles between the piston, rod and crank journal. It is dependant on the engine. Some engines don't even have an offset. The offset is always to the thrust side if there is one. It might be something like 0.010"

          I need to dig up my order form for my custom pistons, but I remember the offset being somewhere around 0.100" inch. It is noticable if you look at a piston. Both the DOHC and pushrod pistons I have look to be similar (haven't actually measured all of them).
