does anyone know anything about coin collecting?

I have a coin that marked on it says $500 dollars on the front , made in 88 and says madero on it, then on the back it has estados unidos mexicanos.. anyone have any clue what this thing is worth?

secondly I have a Kennedy bi-centennial for the year 1776-1976 and it is marked as a half dollar...

Thirdly, I have a 1943 dime but i cant think of who the ladies face is that is on it, it says united states of america, one dime on the back...

Can someone help me out with this?

Sounds like mexican currency to me. THe kennedy is normal for all 76 half dollars. The 1943 dime is a mercury dime. Dunno who that is. www.bestcoin.com

500 peso is all it is worth, about 47.05 USD today...
Regular Mint circulation current can be converted, if obsolete it is junk. Most Mexican coins can be converted at face after 1993, some notes can be but not many. Depends on year with notes. There was a 1 year or so period between 1994-1995ish to convert all old peso's over to new peso's.
And I know a long story about coins.

Your bi-cen coin is worth 3 face more if in MS condition, even more if graded high 60s.

Your merc is worth 2 times face. Can you make out the bands on the torch??? How is the strike relief (uniform clear or deformed dulled in areas)?? Offset, normal planchet?? A MS60 is worth 10 dollars. What is the mint mark?? Blank, D, or S?? FB (full bands or not)
