  • one less 60* V6 on the road

my mom called me tonight and told me that my dad's car got totaled... his 91 lumina sacrificed itself and kept my dad safe... apparently he was the 4th in a 5 car pile

at least dad's alright, its just too bad the lumina went out like that, she had over 215,000 miles last time i drove it (original motor and trans) and purred like a kitten. Im gonna miss that car.. it was the first car i ever drove

ours a beer on the ground for a fallen friend:

At least it did its job and protected your dad. W bodies are good for that. Sorry to hear but it could have been a lot worse by far. On the positive side, he can get another one really cheap:P 215k isn't bad at all. Reminds me of the post on w-body asking if 3.1s were really that bad. Its a shame you won't know how long it would have lasted otherwise.

Sucks about the car. Good they're alright tho.

Moms '93 met a similar fate about 5 years ago. Trunk floor was bent almost to the ground, but the passenger portion of the car was largely intact yet - only a bit of tweaking at the rear doors. So yeah, I'd agree they're probably fairly safe cars.

Exactly why cops use them now in lieu of Crown Vics and big V8 cars. Luminas, Impalas, very tough structurally. And they get better gas mileage.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

i talked to him today, he seemed allright, said he was kinda stiff but nothing major.

im just pissed that the car is gone, that was the first car i drove... and i wanted to see how long it would go

ah oh well he said he's probably gonna get a small truck, so that will help when it comes time for me to move into my house i plan on finding and then buying in the not too distant future
