  • Just to Clarify (A Game)

We deal with engines, not motors. Motors are electric. And although they are brought up from time to time, our engines are not motors. Now, you can really say you have a multi-motor car.

How many motors, does your car have? Mine has 18. Can you name them?

11, good try. Left out the most important one though.

        That one would be starter...

        Then fuel pump

Are you including actuators as well, like the door lock actuators and trunk release, because they are not motors.

What about speakers? They're not rotational motors, but they do take electrical energy and convert it into something else mechanically.

They would be along the lines of selenoids.

Then expain why the part that makes them move is called a "motor"

Although I do kinda agree that the speakers would be closer in relation to a solenoid.

Although I have seen a few speakers use actual motors to move them, servo subs, the Phoenix Gold Cyclone, and the 6" sub that Richard Clark and Dave Navone built in a bread truick, used ford starter motors.
