we have our share of kids, and MM was pretty bad for a while, Ive been admin for about a year now and we are working on turning that around, unlike some other boards, we welcome anyone monte owner or not. Everyone there is actually quite friendly and helpfull.

We need can use the input of some of you guys for our fourms that sport the 60v6 engines too, we have some smart guys over there and people are working hard to learn all they can but when it comes to 60v6 stuff, this place takes the show for sure.

Check it out, it has changed a bit in the past year.

I would join mymonte.com if I wasn't already posting a lot here and at w-body.com, and trying to get my ontario w-body club up and running. Besides, I don't know if I would barf after a short while from seeing too many Monte pics in everyones sig j/k

I post over on MM, but mainly just to correct mistakes of some of the people over there. And to piss off Germ...

I stayed out of this thread because I didn't feel like I needed to comment on another site. Any comments I have, I post on the site in reference. And yes, I have been known (on several occasions) to basically call people out that they are dumb on other forums. And I'm sure I will do it again. That's just the way I am.

As far as closing this thread goes... I don't think it needs it just yet. I just want to know, why did you come over here? From what I've seen, all you have done so far is add to the off-topic crap. If you want to do that, stay on the other forums. We TRY to keep this site as mature as possible (although I'm sure you don't think so), and threads like this just show how immature other sites actually are.

This site is for people who are serious about increasing the performance of their engine. This site is non-car specific so as to get knowledge from all types of individuals, not just people who own a specific car. There are people on car-specific sites who think they know it all when it comes to these engines, and then they find out that they are only scratching the surface compared to the knowledge base here. And why is that?

I dunno... right now I feel like locking the entire off-topic area because of all the STUPID shit that is currently active. I would rather have 1000 good posts about in-depth engine info than 6000 posts about worthless crap that has no place here. If you want to play internet word games or discuss the latest rice boy talk, keep it on your "own" forums. Its not something I want to have to sort through when trying to find relevant information.

And yeah, I know... none of that really blended well together, and most probably makes no sense to be in this thread, but I felt I had to get it off my chest.

i came over here to learn what i could from you guys! i am not very knowledgable yet about my engine and MM wasnt helping that much. the only reason i posted this and the other thread was because i wanted to invite other monte owners over to our site and the other thread kind of loosens things up on these boards and helps to get to know eachother. so far have heard alot of negative from you guys about MM and thats ok. you are all entitled to your opinions. but when 00noma posted what he did he really set me off . your site has been very helpful so far as has MM, you guys seem to know more about the mechanical side of things, and MM is good with apearance. i think i will stick around here for awhile and just learn what i can. and share what i know, even though thats not much. and 00noma

I'll agree with him on that. Harse!

I also am a beginner, or possibley "intermediate" when it comes to knowledge of these engines. I have learned a ton here and learn more everyday (more than w-body.com, even though it IS an excellent site for w-bodies.) I took a little visit to MM and looks like alot of JIBBER JABBER! LOL. Was looking at a post on 1/4 mile times and hardly anyone had slips or knew there times, but STILL posted anyways!
Post whoring isn't a good way to get other people to know you better... you gotta just make good quality posts. Reason I have 500 posts is cause I ask lots of questions, and try to help people out best I can. Sure, I post on the off-topic area quite a bit, but I check all the other threads too (not so much DOHC cause I don't know anything there..). I also have 500 posts cause I was up to 100 or something and the server had problems and set other people back to zero.

quit your crying ty, I?ve heard the song and dance before, you know everyone here is acting quite childish, there?s no need to jump up peoples ass because they are new. Granted many of the mm members fall in the young and can be somewhat immature but returning it with comments such as

mm is about 99.8% idiotic jackasses.
Does not help much at all. there has been a lot done to push mm to a more serious platform but I prefer not to alienate half my membership just to make it a super mature board, part of the community is to have fun that?s why I let things go in OT if people so desire (hell the forum gets pruned every 15days anyhow so post whoring is becoming useless).

I would prefer to see more kinship between these sites, we have so much more to gain by working together rather than acting like elitists. Regardless of it all we are all interested in the same thing and have similar goals. We all have an interest in furthering the advancement of our cars; our aftermarket and our knowledge why not foster that?

60v6 is a great site and is very focused on high performance of 60v6 engines, MM is more of a car club that is focused on all aspects of the new generation's Monte Carlos so we will most likely never get as deeply technical as you guys over here even though most montes have a 60v6 power plant. MyMonte is at a turning point and we would like to do anything we can to make it a more informative, professional and yes even mature site. MM is changing every day.

Despite what you folks may think or do many of us over at MM hold 60v6 in very high regard and have a lot of respect for the knowledge here. There are those few on MM that like to cause trouble and be jerks but every board has their eggs and most people there are really there to be serious in what they are doing.

And for those who hold old grudges, frankly get over it, it?s all past history and it?s only the internet.
