There might be a change, not because of the material used, but overall strength. Just because something is made of a material known for strength doesn't autmatically make it strong. The design plays a large effect on overall strength and durability.
Thats what I am thinking too. But the Ti rods were used because they were so sucessful in racing. The racing motors make a hell of laot more than 800HP. But again the racing rods and factory rods may not be of equal strength.
Who knows. I guess only Lingenfelter
Yeah exacty, Also of note just because it is used in the race motors does not mean much in terms of long term endurance. Not that the racing rods can't take the abuse, I'm sure they can, but as in most forms of racing, Typical Race engines only see a few track days if not only one weekend worth of abuse and then it is stripped down and parts replaced to remain competitiveness and keep from having engine breakage when trying to win a race.
I agree with Marty and Brads points.

With the cost of a new Z06 + the cost of the ligenfelter kit making the total price of the car around 120k for a car that will completly tear up most supercars including the 166k ford GT im sure its well worth it.
Ford GT... Come on the stock Z06 almost matches it. It is only down little bit. With the LPE package it is an Enzo killer.
Really? Arnt they in the high 11s stock with 500hp? That is still very badass but there are a few civics around here that would run low 10s. It sure would be embarassing to have a 10 second vette be beaten by a civic. What does a stock Enzo run?

There is no 10 second Civic on street tires I'll tell you that right now.
LPE ran a Vette with a 4 speed auto 8.94 on DOT slicks. With the boost turned up to produce 1100 HP. It also passed Texas smog check. Its 750HP version ran mid 9's. However this was a regualr C5. The Previous Z06 and the current one are lighter

I didnt say that it was on street tires but they are completely street legal. And they will run 10s all day long on slicks. With that much power in a vette is it smarter to use an auto than a 5 or 6 speed?
