  • Anti Virus

Found one some of you may know about. I installed it, and it found 2 small Trojans, on it's first scan, and I haven't configured it yet. My PC Cillin missed them, as did McAfee. Follow this link for free Home install. Do not type in www. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 Go to bottom of page for download.

I am not endorsing this, but it works for me. Back up your files on CD. Just in case.

Anyone have any negatives, please post.

So it seems most of the best AVs are free. Another small tool is describing what programs and software you actually have. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html Free also. Had it for 2 years.

There's nothing wrong with AVG. It's a great antivirus program. I got turned onto it a few years back by the guys from TechTV (yes, I am an IT nerd). I've been running it on my Winbloze boxes ever since and have had no problems. I always recommend it to family and friends and have gotten a couple of my small business clients to purchase the non-free version and they have all been very happy.

AVG is great software. You won't go wrong with it.
