    Don't be mad at me..
    I was raised this way.
What is your opinion of putting an animal to sleep?

She is a pet, with health problems. She is very close to me. Closest pet I've ever had. Raised her from a cub. Timber Wolf. Nova Marie.

Vet? or myself? Mine is quicker. Done it before.

Not a "Debbie Downer", just a little input...

    RE: Euthanasia

Sadly, my family has always dumped alot of money into our pets (I think my parents spent many thousands to get a cancerous tumor removed from one of our dogs, only to have it come back in less than a year). We have been faced with putting an animal to sleep a couple times, and we always put more money into them. Some lastest many years more, so it was worth it. Personally, I just couldn't do it unless I just absolutely had to. And then, I'd take it to a vet to have it done.

    But that's just me...

Personally, if I felt and knew that the animal was near its end, or it was mainly just suffering, I would put it out of its misery. Whether it be by the vet or not...

Depends on how bad the problems are and the age. Suffering would make the decision much easier pending what it would take to ease the suffering pending what the outcome of the cure would be. If you are going to do it for sure, do it yourself. Im sure she would rather not be scared at the vets and then die vs being as comfortable as possible and then be gone.

There is nothing wrong with doing it yourself (if you can that is). My father-in-law has a pact with his neighbor that they will "take care" of the other person's dog if it ever gets to that point.

I'm glad we all agree. She was ill. Bladder dysfunction. It's over and I did it myself. It was instant. Thanx for the support.

Now delete this thread. I gotta go fix something on the Cutty.
