  • I've got a problem.

I'm such a sucker for good deals.

Not wanting to bother fixing the blown head gaskets on my 1992 Subaru Legacy LE (boxer engine, you have to pull the engine to pull the heads) winter car.... I sold it today for cheap "as is" 3 years ago I bought it for only 400$ more than what I sold it for not running right today LOL...

Because yesterday I went and bought another DSM.... Was a trade in at work, Cheap.

    So now I have two.
This one is a 1991 Talon TSi, AWD, Automatic car, 185,xxx kms. Champaign coloured. All the bells and whistles ect rah rah rah...
The car has been an original owner car all its life.

My other TSi is a 1990 AWD, Manual trans car. 166xxx kms on it now.

This is what it looked like when I bought it back in feb this year:

(few pics of a fraction of the body repairs)

Right after it came out of the paint booth at work:

The 91 (new car I picked up) is bone stock.

The 90 (red car)Got new front fenders, new used hood, lower quarter sections pieced in, both quarters pulled from dent/rust, shaved the ugly 90-91 spoiler for a 92-94 style spoiler, paint matched front and rear bumpers and side mirrors, all parts of the car that are red now were all removed and painted. Roof is still original paint however. all new trim mouldings around the windows and quater glass.

The 90 has a few mods now.

    Evo3 exhaust manifold
Home Built Manual Boost Controller (Home depot 6$ fittings :P)
Boost set to 1.4 bar (21 psi)
Air box mod, and K&N cone,
    Balance shafts in engine removed.
    Oil bypass passage modified.
    Autometer EGT gauge,
    Greddy Boost gauge.
Energy susp front and rear suspension bushings.
    ACT 2100 clutch

Still to put on the car (i have to get these parts installed sometime soon)
FMIC, was a SRT4 stocker that we rebuilt new end tanks for to fit.
full 2.5 inch stainless charge pipes
2g DSM throttle body elbow (2.5 inch inlet, stock 1g is 2 inch)
    Energy suspension engine/trans bushings
    3 inch Busher racing exhaust.

Since I bought the red car and started driving it. I've been hooked on DSM's. I got dragged into them due to I have two good friends who have been moding them for years. Alwasys help wrench on the two cars every weekend and help out at the track.
Rich's car just ran a 10.75 @ 133 at the DSM shootout in Norwalk this year. (first time to the track with the new 2.4L stroker setup on street radials :O)

I am by no means giving up on 60v6's or my sunbird... But I love the AWD Drift :P LOL.

Yeah I've got issues. as we're selling our 95 jeep to buy a 04 WRX too :P

      RE: I

Do you know if the 04 WRX uses the same headers as say, an 00-02? Ive got a set of headers here with your name on them:P haha, actually, I have a set of headers thanks to the GPXSS school of how to invest in products to make no money down the road:P

Nice deal, use the car, break it, sell it for about what you paid for it. You are going to use that nice DSM as a winter car? Winter cars are like, celebrities and 6000s, or luminas:P

Well the Subie was the winter car for the last 3 years was a great car. But I didnt want to fuck with the engine. And if worse case senario.... cracked engine component, not worth it for the car really. So I cut my losses and sold it. Winter cars need to be AWD. I can't stand driving fwd in winter now that I've owned my subie and these DSM's.

I think I went to the same school as GPXSS then too! LOL. They might be the same headers. When we pick one up (a month or two or three down the road, I want to find the right one take my time) I might have to bug you and see if you still have them

Yeah I know the feeling, Sharkey, I'm 6'2" and just fit in them. The back seat might as well not even be in these cars I mean 5' people still hit their head and have no leg room. I call the backseat "baby seats" as thats about all they can fit in there. LOL.

If we could have our way though we'd be getting an EVO8 instead of a WRX, But allas Mitsu fucked up when they did the EVO for North America and made the bumper too weak for crash testing as it does not pass the Canadian Crash standards (passes the weak american standards but not canada's higher rate of testing) and you cannot get one nor import one to drive here in canada... Which just fucking blows.

Babies take up more room than anybody!!! I'm constantly having to move my seat up when the kids ride in my Century. I don't want them pushing on the seats with their dirty little shoes. They can usually still reach the seat, but they can't get enough leverage to push very hard! :P
