  • Vandelism proofing my trunk...need help...

A few days ago, some a$$grape tried to break in the trunk of my lumina.
Like most of our cars, it's easy to pop the truck lock cylinder out, cause the metal plate holding it is thin, so quite some time ago, I replaced the lock cylinder with a HUGE Carriage bolt and a thick lock washer and nut on the inside, which prevented the punk from actually getting into my trunk. But the screwdriver marks are still there and there is some sheet metal damage. I'd like to find the punk and

And there's nothing really in my trunk besides a few tools in case of emergency. no amps, no subs. (haven't installed them yet, been lazy)

I bought a 16ga steel plate to weld inside the trunk behind the lock cylinder hole to prevent someone from punching through, and I'm going to fill the lock hole with Magnum Steel, and do the fiberglass/bondo/repaint thing. Do you think 16ga is strong enough to withstand another attack?

At lest you don't have a Regal. Those are uber-easy to break into.

16 ga? thats thicker than than car body isnt it? should be fine. especialy if your going to fill the vacant space.

just put a button in the place of the lock, stupid fool pushes it and flamethrower makes his shins crispy! lol.

i'm a sadistic jerk, i'd rather booby trap my car and beat the snot out of the turd and drop him off miles away than tell the authorities.

Make sure it's aimed at their cotch!!! Yes, I'm really just a sick bastard that SHOULD be locked away.
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance

i was at meijers the other night, they had "pelvic bone saws" in the sportng goods/hunting section. it was a cable with 2 handles, $5 localy and readily available garroting wire! but i suppose you wouldnt actually want to kill someone as you get a 25-life boyfriend as a reward, whether you want one or not.

Or go get a foot long screwdriver... is it for stabbing, or fixing?

we use these on my family's work vans so they don't get all the tools ganked from them when we work in nyc.

I built a dead bolt set-up for my trunk. Built from 1/4" steel, typical setup with a peice rivited to the top of the trunk lid with a 1/2" hole drilled in it. On the bottom section their are two more of these when the trunk is closed the top peice drops between the two bottoms. I have a 1/2" steel pin that slides through them by the means of a door lock actuator. This actuator is isolated on it's own circuit and hooked to my alarm. Their are two of these, one on each side of the trunk.

The bitches can pry at the trunk all they want but they ain't getting in there. Nobody has tried so far. But I find that when you have an alarm and your car doesn't scream steal me, the whores just move on to something less conspicuous.
